Hi Nishimwe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
NM Luxe Events officially started in a dorm room at University of Saint Mary. Unofficial, the idea started with participating in Burundian communities across United States as either a Burundian traditional dancer, a server or a coordinator. The Burundian communities here in US are close knit especially when it comes to festivities. This has exposed me to the experience that I am able to bring to the larger DFW and beyond as having an eye for turning wedding visions to realities especially when it comes down to decorating. As a former refugee kid, I went to college knowing that I wanted to be successful, but not knowing how. I was able to settle in the finance industry, which left room for creativity. When I was taking business classes, I became interested in creating a business that would solve two problems: 1. Something that our family can do together, and 2. Something that would bring joy to couples as they go through one of the best moments of their lives. NM luxe was born there and then, as I sat on my rare spare time to create a business plan that got us here today. NM Luxe events is a family-owned decorating company that highly specializes in luxurious faux flowers for couples seeking impeccable wedding decor in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex with a passion for transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t know if there is any business that has a smooth road. The biggest struggle was to start due to different life events. I wrote the business plan back in 2015, but we didn’t officially start until May, 2023.

Another struggle I would say, is realizing how many hats that you have to wear or outsource based on where you are in your journey. Like any business owner, you become the founder, the manager, the marketer, the finance guru, the content creator, the salesperson, your own therapist and everything else in between. It’s rather fascinating and frustrating to find yourself learning something knew every single day.

We’ve been impressed with NM Luxe Events , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Based in Garland, Texas, NM Luxe Events specializes in luxurious faux flowers for couples seeking impeccable wedding decor in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. NM Luxe Events is a family-driven enterprise with a passion for transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

Our mission for our couples is to make the process from vision to reality as seamless and stress free as possible.
We offer guidance, reliance and best support as most couple are navigating the wedding industry for the first time ever.

We do this by communicating well, on time with every single party involved including the wedding vendors such as wedding venues and wedding planners/ coordinators.

Our services include decoration for homes, ceremonies, reception and proposals. We understand that every single couple in unique based on their personal preferences and cultures, and that is what set us apart.

How do you think about happiness?
Communities that celebrate together. I come from a big family. I enjoy seeing families and friends come together and have a good time. That brings me joy.
