Check Out Edgardo Rosado’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Edgardo Rosado

Hi Edgardo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Since I am a teacher, 10 years ago I accepted a position with the Dallas ISD. During my free time, I started traveling, and in 2018, I decided to buy a camera to take beautiful photos during my trips. I began watching videos to learn how to use the camera, and that’s how my interest in photography started. I began practicing by taking photos of my friends and myself. However, I later decided to pursue a master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language, so I decided to pause photography to focus entirely on my studies.

As soon as I completed my master’s degree, I decided to return to photography, but this time professionally. My husband and I have a small bakery business called “YuBo Bakery,” so we decided to officially co-found “YuBo Photography.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This process has not been easy. I didn’t have a mentor to learn from, so I gained my photography knowledge by reading, watching YouTube videos, and following the work of other photographers to get ideas on how to help my clients pose and create beautiful compositions. Also, there are many talented photographers in Dallas, so it was a bit difficult for us to become known. However, little by little, we have made progress, and now we have a solid group of clients.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We specialize in portrait photography such as families, birthdays, maternity sessions, headshots, and we also offer photos with our famous “Flying Dresses.” We take photos both outdoors and in the studio. Currently, we have a page on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
What makes us different from others is that we ensure our clients not only get beautiful photos, but also have a pleasant experience during the photo session. Additionally, our prices are very affordable because we want everyone to be able to have a beautiful photo session without having to pay hundreds of dollars.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite memory from my childhood is when my parents, almost every weekend, would take my siblings and me on outings to the beach, rivers, and other beautiful places on our island. I think that’s why I love outdoor activities, and I also believe that’s why I specialized in environmental sciences as part of my teacher career.
