Life & Work with Karim De La O of Fort Worth, TX.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karim De La O

Hi Karim, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey with Kasa Interiors started about five years ago when I earned my certificate in interior design and decoration. At the time, I was balancing being a stay-at-home mom while following my passion for creating beautiful spaces. In 2020, I officially launched Kasa Interiors and slowly grew the business, working on projects in places like El Paso, Austin, and now Fort Worth, where I’ve been for the past year. My family has always been a big part of my journey. My husband supports me in everything, and now that both my children are in school, I have more time to dedicate to my passion full-time. Today, Kasa interiors is thriving, offering everything from design boards to virtual consultations with our goal being ‘Good design for good moments’.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, as balancing motherhood and growing Kasa Interiors presented its own set of challenges. In the early years, my top priority was being a stay-at-home mom, so I had to build my business slowly, often working on projects during nap times or late at night. Moving to Fort Worth also meant starting fresh in a new market, which came with the challenge of networking and gaining clients in a new area. Another hurdle was juggling the creative side of the business with managing the day-to-day operations, but with the help of my husband we found a way to manage everything together.
Each challenge taught me resilience and the value of patience, and those lessons have been key to where Kasa Interiors is today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We offer a range of services, from full interior design projects to design boards, virtual consultations, and professional organization.

At Kasa Interiors, we specialize in creating beautiful and functional spaces that are meaningful.
One of the things I love most is creating color palettes that inspire my clients while ensuring their spaces have a timeless feel.

I love creating cozy, welcoming spaces by blending old with new, incorporating organic elements that bring warmth, and using a transitional style that balances modern and traditional for a timeless look.
I’m known for blending aesthetics with functionality, creating environments that feel personal and lived in, which is something my clients truly appreciate.
By focusing on timeless elements, I make sure my clients’ spaces remain beautiful and functional, with a look that doesn’t go out of style but evolves with them over time.

I am passionate about everything that has to do with a home. A home is a sanctuary to which we always return, a place where our children and guests find comfort, feel welcome and where we experience joy, happiness, and all sort of emotions. This strong connection to what makes a home special drives my passion for creating spaces that really connect with people.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always drawn to creativity and expression. I pursued my interest in teaching by earning a bachelors degree in education, which taught me the importance of sharing knowledge and inspiring others. However, my true passion has always been art. I’ve always loved experimenting with colors and materials, and I consider myself a very creative and artistic person. This love for art naturally led me to the design industry, where I could explore aesthetics and create beautiful inspiring spaces that reflect peoples unique stories.
I’m also a perfectionist, which drives me to ensure that everything I create is visually stunning, satisfying and beautifully arranged.
