Conversations with Kay Tourelle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay Tourelle

Hi Kay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my modeling career in 2019. Through networking, attending casting calls, and creating inspiring content, numerous opportunities have opened up for me. Since taking this leap, I’ve collaborated with diverse brands in fashion, fitness, beauty, and swimwear. I’ve also had the privilege to work with fellow creatives and feature in multiple music videos.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Throughout my career, I’ve encountered some challenges, especially in the early stages. One of the most significant hurdles I faced was rejection. Over time, I’ve learned that rejection, whether from casting calls, auditions, or booking opportunities, is not personal. It’s simply a natural part of the modeling industry. Recognizing that rejection stems from the specific needs or preferences of clients and projects, not a reflection of my personal worth or talent, has empowered me to persevere and thrive in my career.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in fashion, commercial, print, fitness, and runway modeling, and I’ve also made a strong impact in music videos by elevating their visual storytelling and aesthetic appeal. What truly sets me apart is my ability to consistently show up as my authentic self. I bring my true self to every project, letting my energy and presence make a lasting impression.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5 to 10 years, I envision the modeling industry becoming even more diverse, shaped by today’s models who will influence its future direction. As technology continues to evolve, it will be exciting to see new trends emerge. One trend I anticipate is the rise of digital platforms that will allow models and creatives to connect more easily and access new opportunities.
