Daily Inspiration: Meet Darcel Moreno

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darcel Moreno

Hi Darcel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My talent agency, Darcel Moreno Talent, lends to box office movies, television shows and a host of worldwide, national, regional and local productions.

I specialize in discovering fresh talent, casting for diverse roles and talent management. It has always been my passion to build pathways for underrepresented talent to find a foothold in mainstream entertainment.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
From late 2000s to 2015, Louisiana was known as Hollywood South. The State of Louisiana was number one in the film and television industry for projects produced during that time. Around 2016 the entertainment industry in Shreveport, Louisiana was on the decline which led to most industry professionals from Shreveport/Bossier to either move where the productions were or consider a new career. I personally made a pivot and decided to use my other talents.

Fortunately, G -Unit Mogul, 50 Cent is opening a new studio in my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana and opportunities are calling for my return.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a SAG actress, stunt performer, talent agent, and casting director. Of course, I can’t do all of those things simultaneously however, my credentials have afforded beautiful experiences in the world of Film & TV.

As a casting director, I have credits for Pizza Hut, Cabela’s, Horseshoe Casino, Red River Bank, Battle Los Angeles, music video “ Don’t Touch My Hair” starring Solange (Casting Assistant), and Grammy Nominated video Woodkid (Golden Age).

As an actress, my credits lend to productions like American Horror Story (Coven), The Purge 2, Queen Sugar 2, Jack Reacher 2 and many many more.

My credits as a talent agent allowed me to book clients on projects such as Logan (Wolverine), Hilton Hotel, Hyatt Hotel, Phreesia, Bailey’s, Zaxbys, Westinghouse and a host of others.

I’m most proud of making dreams come true. Whether it’s working for myself or booking clients in productions, I find satisfaction in achieving the overall goal.

What sets me apart from others is my strong business acumen coupled with the drive to grow the arts within my community.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
My most important lesson has been to live in the present and to understand when I’m faced with a tough challenge, that my right now isn’t my forever.
To remain consistent and to see every goal through until the end.
