Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Chop Shop Boutique has been in the works since 2013, and along the way, I’ve faced my share of challenges. The fashion industry is fast-paced and constantly evolving, so learning the ins and outs was a journey in itself. From figuring out sourcing, curating the right pieces, and staying ahead of trends, to understanding the business side of things, each step has required dedication and growth.
Another major challenge was deciding whether Chop Shop Boutique should be a brick-and-mortar store or remain an online business. That decision took time and careful consideration because I wanted to build something that wasn’t just trendy but designed to last and evolve with the future. Balancing what was best for the brand and anticipating how fashion retail would shift has been a key part of the journey.
I’ve had to overcome setbacks, but those experiences have been crucial to building the brand. Every challenge pushed me to adapt, work harder, and sharpen my vision for what Chop Shop represents today. It’s been a long road, but I wouldn’t trade the lessons learned along the way.

A few resources have really helped me along the way, both in business and personal growth. In terms of podcasts, **”Chop It Up Podcast “** by Savvi and myself has been a huge inspiration for me. Listening to entrepreneurs share their journey, the challenges they faced, and how they overcame obstacles has motivated me to push through my own setbacks.
For books, **”Shoe Dog”** by Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, is a personal favorite. His journey resonates with me, especially navigating the ups and downs of building a brand from scratch. **”The Lean Startup”** by Eric Ries is also a great read for anyone in business. It emphasizes the importance of adaptability, something I’ve applied to Chop Shop Boutique.
On the app side, **Instagram** and **Pinterest** are huge sources of inspiration for staying up-to-date with fashion trends and fueling creativity for my designs. **Canva** has also been a game-changer for creating quick, eye-catching visuals for social media.
