Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Flores
Hi Maria , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Guadalajara Jalisco, México. I lived there until I was 18 years old and me and my family made the decision to move to the United States so I could go to College. I went to Richland College and graduated with my Associates Degree unsure of what I wanted to do next. Looking at my options I always loved everything beauty and decided to tour Cosmetology schools, and that’s how I ended up making the decision to dive into Hair which is now my biggest passion.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe the biggest struggle was adapting to a new environment with the move to the United States and leaving everything I knew including my support system.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a hairstylist and I specialize in Balayage/ Lived in Color, which is a technique that gives my guests a seamless grow out, which allows all my busy girls a low maintenance look that will still look amazing even at 5-6 months after their sessions. I strive to always offer a safe space for all of my guests where they can feel comfortable to express themselves in.
Any big plans?
Right now I’m enjoying my new space that I just recently started working from and I’m looking forward to keep growing to bigger and better things.
