Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Harris
Hi Mariah , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well it’s actually quite simple. I’ve always had an interest in nails and beauty. Initially, I was on track to become an attorney. Then, when school begins to cost too much for me, I took my part-time job more serious to help cover the ends that loans did not. However, balancing school and a job can be very stressful so, once my semester ended, I decided to take a gap year and try out my other interests. Nails happened to be one of them. I’m originally from Chicago Illinois and I only relocated to Texas about two years ago.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been easy at all. Like I said before I was a college student so I still lived at home with my mom when I decided to take that gap year. Unfortunately, for me and my clients, she did not want any outside guests inside of the house so, I took to traveling to my clients. However, due to security issues unforeseen that quickly ended. I would soon turn to Nail school and still working other part-time jobs to pay for that. Once I graduated cosmetology school, I’ve been working at various salons all throughout the city. Then finally landed a more permanent position at an established salon through a good friend of mine. I stayed there for about 3 years time before ultimately leaving. Some of the struggles Included not taking myself as serious as I should have in the beginning. Confidence truly is key when it comes to selling yourself. People are more than willing to invest when you see him like you know what you’re talking about! So Always walk it like you talk it. Another issue that I face that maybe some other Nail Tech can attest to would probably be sketchy clients, Bosses that steal your money, And people who genuinely don’t have your best interest at heart. It’s important to remain true to your self in your craft because while the money may seem great, you should value peace even greater. .
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a master nail artist. I specialize in acrylic toes and I most proud of that. I find great pleasure in restoring the confidence of my clients, and that has truly been able to set me apart from any & all competition.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’ll tell my people all the time that the best ways to support me are through word-of-mouth and genuinely just sharing and reposting my work and content from my business page. Anyone looking to collaborate with me an always email me!
