Rising Stars: Meet F.L.i. Guy Q of Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan

Today we’d like to introduce you to F.l.i. Guy Q

Hi F.L.i. Guy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Spending most of my teenage years in Ferriday, Louisiana (population under 4,000), I got a crash course in life that most people never get to experience. At the age of 14, I was doing the same things as most of the adults around me. This was when I first discovered that you can have anything in life if you work hard enough and smart enough to get it. This gave me a drive and hustle like no one else I knew.

Around age 15, I wrote my first rap song. I remember being in Alternative School and finishing my work early that day. Since I had some free time, I decided to write a rap to help me get clarity on all of my bottled-up emotions. Help me put them into words so that I could express them and release some of the weight they carried. You know those emotions you feel and thoughts you have that just never come out. I remember being called to the Principal’s Office the next day because of all the foul language within that rap! Who knew I was on to something special?

Fast-forward 10 years and I’m walking across the stage at my college graduation. Graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering, I was off to start my career in Corporate America. Luckily, I had taken some entrepreneurial classes, so I knew this was not my final destination. After working construction management in Houston for seven years, operating a real estate investing company for a year and a half, and finally moving from Houston back to Dallas to be closer to family. I decided to take my music more serious. 2024 was the restart of something great…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge so far has been acquiring this mindset! The maturity it takes to tell yourself “No! You can’t go play right now. You have to work! You have to read (or in my case, listen to) these books so you can learn the skills you need to be successful. You need to know how to sale, how to communicate, how to invest, how to build a team, how to build a brand and so much more.”

The turning point for me. And it’s going to be the same for anyone striving to be better or looking to take back control of their life. It was that critical moment when I looked at the person in the mirror and was honest enough to admit that I’m 100% responsible for where I’m at in life. I had to accept this as my truth and understand that it’s still okay. I’m still okay.

The next step was just as challenging. I had to accept the fact that if I wanted more and wanted better, I had to become the better version of myself that was qualified to receive all those things I dreamed to have. Being willing to do all the self-work that’s necessary to become the person that I need to be has allowed me to do the things I enjoy experiencing and live the life I know I deserve.

I can truly say that “Progress is a Process!” I can’t tell you how many days and nights I’ve spent by myself, thinking, meditating, listening to my surroundings, paying attention to that little voice in my head, learning to trust my intuition. Fortunately, doing all this inner-work has given me the understanding needed to create my brand F.L.i., which stands for Fulfillment, Love and Intuition.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I help everyday people navigate life by providing clarity, motivation, and a sense of direction through my music. Through my brand. F.L.i. Which breaks down into three (3) parts.

F = Fulfillment. (Destination) Take a second to ask yourself, “If I could create the perfect life, with all the bells and whistles, a life that is truly fulfilling, what would that look like?” Remove any limitations that you might want to consider. Really be free and paint your picture. Write it down. Think through the details and be as specific as possible. This picture is your life goal. Your ultimate DESTINATION. Something you work towards everyday. And you enjoy the bursts of accomplishment that come with checking off small goals on your way to your life of ultimate fulfillment.

L = Love. (Fuel) The Love you have for yourself. Understanding your unique value and knowing you deserve the best that the world has to offer. The love you have for life itself. Admiring life’s beautiful layers. Loving the chase and thrill of it all. The love you have for those who love you. That team of people you know are depending on you to make it all happen. Far too many reasons to get up every single day and figure out how to make that life of fulfillment your reality. The hunger and drive these loves give you are your FUEL. Use it on those days when you’re burned out and can’t seem to keep going. Remember how much you need you. How much they need you.

With your destination established, and some fuel to help you get there, all you’re missing are directions. That brings us to the 3rd part.

i = intuition. (GPS) You have to have the courage to follow your heart when nobody around you understands your actions. Only you know what’s in your heart. Only you can hear it when it speaks. You have to have the courage to listen to it and let it guide you. After all, a good heart never gives bad directions. Be pure in your intentions, align your mind with your heart, and your heart will be your GPS for accomplishing every goal you put in front of it. No matter how big or how small.

My heart warms knowing that F.L.i. is a tool that helps people of all ages not only better understand life but take control of it and experience their life of ultimate fulfillment. Being F.L.i. is what makes me me. It’s what sets me apart from everyone else in this world.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Strong-mindedness, determination, perseverance, and resilience are all critical and necessary qualities that helped me become the person I am today. These will be the same qualities that shape you on your journey towards greatness and success!
