Today we’d like to introduce you to Lakisha D. Boyd
Hi LaKisha D. , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have worn many hats throughout my life but by nature I am a natural born leader. I had a lot of obstacles and challenges to overcome in my life but what I went through only made my determination stronger. Raised by a single mom and the youngest of 3 kids in Detroit, Michigan. I was always picked on and harassed by my older siblings. I was a loner and a true introvert. Being an introvert helped me and hindered me. I learned how to stay to myself and mind my own business but being an introvert doesn’t help when I was trying to make connections and build relationships with people and be successful at business.
There was a lot of personal growth and development I had to go through to overcome childhood trauma, hardships, moving around a lot and an absent dad in my life. I knew I wanted something different from the only example I had in my life and that was my mother so I had to figure out who I was and who I wanted to be for myself. I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in January 2008. I was married with 1 son. After figuring out that my ex husband did not seek God how I did. We grew apart and later divorced.
After my divorce , I moved away from Michigan to California. My son was diagnosed with Autism and I needed to find help for him in California. The research and development was more advanced in California. I built a skin care business and I helped my son get the Autism services and support he was in need of.
We lived in California for 7 years my son and I, It was tough I worked 3 jobs and ran a business in order to live there. I eventually became exhausted and decided to move to Texas. It has been 5 years living in Texas and we absolutely love it . I now work from home as a Remote Travel Agent and book my clients travels. I specialize in Group Travel & Cruises although I am a Full Service Travel Agency. I help my clients with solo travel, anniversary, honeymoon, girls trips, cruises, car rentals, live concerts and sporting events and so much more. I recently achieved my Certified Sandals Specialist Certificate so I will be planning Destination Weddings as well.
I will be traveling with my clients next year in April 2025 to Bali, Indonesia and in October 2025 Athens, Greece. I am apart of 2 DFW Community Networking Groups – EntrepreneuHer DFW Women’s Network & Events & DFW Network Chamber.
I love Networking and I love traveling, my purpose has aligned with my destiny and I am maximizing the journey each and every day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. It has been a very difficult road. I had a turning point in my life in 2008 I went through a divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure and a custody battle for my son to stay with his mom. That was the most difficult time in my life. I had to fight for myself and my son. I also moved around a lot I have lived in 3 states Michigan, California & Texas. I became very drained and exhausted having to start over so much. My greatest gift is the ability to network and no matter where I go I am able to meet new people all the time. I love making friendships and connections that are meaningful to my life and my journey.

I am a Remote Travel Specialist in the DFW area. I specialize in Group Travel & Cruises. I can book peoples travels from all 50 states. I book travel all over the World. I make it my mission and business to have integrity in my business. Integrity & Character is important to me and is the foundation of my business. I take it serious to offer premier customer service to my clients.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is to be happy and passionate about what I do and what I do for a living. I love people and I love helping people and making a positive impact in others lives. I want to help multi generations see and travel the world together I also want to help travelers traveling outside of the country for the first time create memories together and experience culture and diversity. I want to be the one known to make things happen. It is my pride and passion to get things done.
