Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Jovan
Hi Micah Jovan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in New Orleans, La. I joined the Army in 1999 which brought me to Texas in 2000. I had a daughter and stayed here for her. Been here ever since and have been making music all along. I did a few CHH albums and singles before I returned to my true love R&B last year. I dropped my debut R&B album “Love Is…” (and multiple singles) which my single, “Close” had a small buzz on a few urban R&B stations. I’m currently running an acoustic cover series on YouTube covering a range of genres and song types in stripped down renditions that I transform into my own.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey definitely hasn’t been smooth at all…. I’m always trying to figure out how to get more exposure to MY universal audience I haven’t truly found a way to reach YET. I just need that one opportunity, opening act, introduction to get the true visibility and exposure to the world at large.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work for a bank by day but I live music at all times.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My 9-5 is literally managing risks and teaching others to do the same. I’d like to think I’m pretty good at it. Even with that, this industry has nothing but risk built in.
