Today we’d like to introduce you to Paris Mimitte
Hi Paris , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I come from a long line of great women who can cook phenomenally. Especially my Great Grandmother and Mom. They have passed down that talent to me for sure. I have always enjoyed cooking and baking as well but it wasn’t until I was maybe 14 that I started baking seriously and trying to create my own recipes. I would bake and sell in high school and I just realized I had a gift and passion for baking. Years passed and I decided to actually start a baking company around six years ago. I started with little treats, cookies, brownies, bundt cakes etc. I started to master my craft by continuously practicing, taking classes and seeking advice from other bakers. I then became able to expand my skills and started baking cakes. I now offer birthday and wedding cakes, specialty treats like chocolate covered oreos, candy apples, Rice Krispies, I offer cookies, mini cakes, dessert shooters, banana puddings etc. The best part is that all of these amazingly delicious treats are made with love inside of my home. Being a home baker is definitely interesting it has pros and cons for sure but I wouldn’t trade it for anything because in my home is where my passion and creativity flows best and my work definitely shows that.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely been an interesting journey but a journey that is so worth it ! The biggest challenge for me was honestly just finding the confidence to get started. To realize that everything doesn’t have to be perfect to start my business. I would find myself saying I don’t know how to do this yet or I don’t have this equipment yet. It was definitely an attempt to continue to limit the growth of my business because I didn’t feel ready. The support and encouragement from my family and the bond I share with God has definitely motivated me and walked me through continuing this process .
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a full-time entrepreneur. I am actually a licensed cosmetologist. I have been licensed for 9 years and I specialize in natural hair. I am located in Flourish Curls Salon, in Arlington. We’re the best natural hair salon in Texas. I love my salon sisters. We are definitely family and I am so grateful for them! As far as baking goes my company is called Majestic Treats. We were founded in New Orleans where I am originally from,born and raised but have since relocated to Arlington, Texas two years ago. I am most proud of the amazing experiences I create daily for all of my clients. Whether they are clients in the salon or clients that need treats for special occasions. I feel my personality is what sets me apart from others as well as my goal of always exceeding expectations. I love and appreciate all my clients and I love to deliver great results so that they will always remember the way I made them feel about their hair or their cakes.
What matters most to you? Why?
Growth matters most to me ! I am always looking to grow spiritually, emotionally and physically in my life; both personally and professionally. My goal for my business would be to continue to create beautiful cakes and desserts to be apart of everyone’s special events. I would love to open a bakery while continuing the authenticity of creativity and love within my business. The slogan for Majestic Treats is “Spreading Joy, one delicious bite at a time.” My goal will always be to spread joy, to people while doing something I love. My support system also matters 100 percent. I have been Blessed with incredible family and friends who continue to support, buy treats and give advice when needed. I was given a great foundation from birth ! My mom has sacrificed in many ways to push me and my siblings to achieve every goal and dream we have ever had and I wouldn’t be who I am today without her. I also have a very supportive wife and she is always helping me out, prepping me for orders, working events, etc. anything I need when it comes to this company she is willing and ready , no questions asked . She is truly a great business partner.
