Meet Deericsha Wyrick of Dallas / Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deericsha Wyrick

Hi Deericsha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?

Growing up as a small town girl from Arkansas who moved to the big city at a young age I knew my life was destined to be great. Becoming the first generation college graduate and pursing my dream of becoming a nurse seemed to be a fairytale, a real dream come true. I was blessed with two amazing sons , my life seems to be going better than ever. However I was not completely satisfied it was as if another piece of me was missing. I decided that I wanted to start my own business but had no idea where and when to start it. I did so much research and realized that I wanted to build a brand that made a statement. A brand that carried something essential to everyday life. That when it hit me that I wanted to make candles. Candles not only give off scents they create an undeniable vibe and I wanted to be apart of that! I knew I didn’t want anything too basic I wanted to make it an exotic experience one of a kind. But I wanted it to have my touch. That where I came up with the name Dazotic. Deericsha’s exotic touch! Once up and running I wanted to expand the brand with luxury extensions but I didn’t want to make a new name for it I wanted it to fall under the same name. And that when it hit me that I didn’t want to limit myself but instead brand myself and there it was DAZOTIC THE BRAND ready to take on the world !

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As the wise always say anything great don’t come easy! There has been so many obstacles come my way but the biggest one , the one I knew was going take me down was when I was diagnosed with a rare tumor called paraganglioma. The doctors told me that the tumor was so huge and tangled with my arteries that I would most likely need a feeding tube immediately after surgery and would have a permanent disability of a hoarse voice and maybe facial droop. On top of that they couldn’t test for cancer until the tumor was removed. My life felt like it had been shattered right in front of my eyes but all I could do was pray. The day of surgery I came out speaking complete sentences with no hoarseness and was able to eat without a feeding tube. When the doctor came to do his rounds he told me I was a miracle because not only did they have to sacrifice some of my arteries the surgery took longer than expected because of the location. He told me that my life was truly a testimony and I knew then my life was destined for much more. Weeks went by and it was still one piece missing from the puzzle , was I going have to start chemotherapy or not? The physicians called me and told me the tumor was non cancerous. Joy filled my heart but fire filled my spirit I knew it was time to live to my fullest potential.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an entrepreneur out here trying to find the way day by day. I have my DazotictheBrand company and I also have a boutique getting ready to open back in my hometown of Arkansas , named Gee’s Spot inspired by my grandmother who is no longer with us. I feel that what sets me apart from other companies is my heart and dedication, Dazotic is supposed to be an experience not just a company. It’s important to me that every single customer leaves truly satisfied beyond their expectations as I understand the saying “working hard for my money.” Dazotic is designed to ultimately be a luxury experience for everyone to leave with surety in the quality of my brand.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like most about Dallas is how diverse it is. There are so many opportunities here and so many different people and cultures , everyday you get to learn something new and experience something different. What I like least about Dallas is probably everyone top answer , “ THE TRAFFIC” lol. But other than that Dallas is my home away from home and I love it !
