Daily Inspiration: Meet Jaime Dee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Dee

Hi Jaime, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Jaime Dee, and I am Celebrity Radio Personality, Recording Artist, TV Talk Show Host and Live Event Host. Before I achieved my current success, I got my start in the entertainment industry as a Background Actor in Miami, Florida. From there, I moved to Atlanta, GA and networked with other Background Actors and Celebrities, while working on many different sets, to learn more about the field.

Through my networking, I gained a mentorship with known Actor Chrystee Pharris. Chrystee Pharris taught me the business of acting and because of that, I was able to use that knowledge to break into the TV, radio, media and music industry. Since then, I have received my Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park and worked a plethora of entertainment jobs that have made me who I am today. However, I currently don’t claim some of my past job titles that I have received. Even though I don’t currently claim certain entertainment job titles (because I have either moved past them or aren’t currently using them), they are always cherished by me and readily on standby.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has never been a smooth road for me, and still isn’t. The entertainment industry is amazing, but you are often looking and applying for your next gig, proving your worth to people, spending money on something, begging people to support you and your craft and competing with social media trends to stay afloat. The crazy part is though, the things I just mentioned aren’t even scratching the surface of why being in the entertainment industry is challenging. Every day I have to reassure myself and pray to God so I can stay mentally sane in my industry.

However, one day this will all change for me. My time in the entertainment industry will become smooth, easy, less mentally taxing, secure, more profitable and more enjoyable for me. This I claim in Jesus’ name! Amen!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My name is Jaime Dee, and I am Celebrity Radio Personality, Recording Artist, TV Talk Show Host and Live Event Host from Chicago, IL. I have lived in several major US cities chasing the bag and pushing for stardom, but I currently live in Dallas, TX. I specialize in anything and everything entertainment. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Florida International University and my Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park.

I have been actively in the entertainment industry since 2014 as an Actor, Model, Radio Personality, Casting Director, Live Event Host, News Reporter, Live TV Talk Show Host, Game Show Host, Recording Artist and more. I really have had my hands in many things in the entertainment industry. Currently I am known for my Live Morning Radio Show “The Jaime Dee Show” and my two viral songs “Roll With Me” and “It’s My Birthday” produced by Celebrity Songwriter and Producer, Alright Slash.

What I am most proud of is my perseverance in and dedication to the entertainment field. Every job title I have gained in my industry has brought me joy, success and appreciation for my craft. If it wasn’t for the people I have met along the way, the jobs I have taken whether big or small and the degrees I have obtained, I wouldn’t be who I am today.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to adapt, relate and do without fear. You will always catch me with my hands in something, hanging around big name celebrities and becoming a bigger and better star with each and every project I take on.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
What advice I would give to those who are just starting out is to not be afraid to take other jobs while chasing your dreams. You need money to make money in the entertainment industry, and if you are too afraid to be seen working another job while also being known for something else in this industry, you are already falling behind.

Understand that it’s okay to try different things before you find your niche. Don’t let anyone box you into what they see or have known you as. You are the creator of your future, not them.

Also, what I wish I would’ve known starting out is how important it is to save your money when chasing your dreams. The entertainment industry is so fleeting, and you are often broke and looking for your next gig. My field is truly a mentally exhausting one.
