Meet Frankie Ortiz and Reina Garza of A2B Booking Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankie Ortiz, Reina Garza.

Frankie and Reina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started A2B in January 2017 as a hobby for me and my wife not knowing it would turn into a full fledge business. We were first approached by Mark Martinez (Memories In Broken Glass) from San Antonio, TX in regards to a West Coast Tour. Even tho I’ve been involved in the music scene since ’95 the booking side of the industry was very new to me. There are a lot of elements involved when planning a 20 day voyage and not to mention meeting these deadlines. We booked the “Enigma Infinite” Tour the best we could.

I would say a month later we were being flooded with emails and phone calls from bands all over the US. Let me just say word gets out fast. We became overwhelmed, at this point we decided to hire some people to join our team. Reina Garza (Lubbock TX) replied to my ad. She learned the business very quick and became my lead agent. She was outdoing me at times (lol) and has since then became my partner here at A2B. We have several team members spread out in the states. Ty Wooderson and Kara Cook (Arizona)-
Holly Chesnutt and Jen Thornton (Lubbock)-
Mike Trotter (Dallas)-
Andrew Ghoster (California)-
Theresa Brake (Missouri)
Taylor Giordano (Florida)

I am very grateful to have such a strong team. It’s the only way this business can be successful.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There’s gonna be bumps in the road with any business. We just try to put our heads together and figure out what works best. 2017 has definitely been a learning experience for all of us. I guess number one rule for us is “Don’t take on more than you can handle”.

Please tell us about A2B Booking Agency.
A2B Booking Agency is a nationwide booking agency specializing in Midwest and West coast tours. We work with all genres of rock music. We want to help bands expand past the local level and we believe that every band is capable of doing so if they’re willing to put in the work. Frankie and I will go above and beyond for the bands we work with.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I’d do anything differently. I’m very happy with where we are at right now and we wouldn’t be here if we’d done anything differently.
