Rising Stars: Meet Antwon Frazier of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antwon Frazier

Hi Antwon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2017 my oldest son, Lil Twon, started playing football. I would come out as just a parent, to support and watch him play, and before I knew it I was out there coaching. I coached him from the age of 4 years old until he turned 11. I needed him to get use to learning from someone other than me as his coach, so I went back down to the flag football level and started coaching my youngest son, Aycen. Now, today, my wife and I own the team my dad started [Triple D Buckeyes] where I am also the head flag team coach and my wife is the cheer director.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the words of Mary Mary, “nobody told me that the road would be easy but I don’t believe He’s brought me this far to leave me!” 🤣 This has not been an easy road at all!!! I’ve lost vacation and intimate time with my family, my household has experienced financial deficits trying to cover team related expenses because most of our families cannot afford sport fees, and the commitment goes far beyond the time we spend at the field. All and all, I wouldn’t change my journey or give up on my organization for anything in this world!! Those kids keep me going and have no idea how many times they’ve saved me from losing my mind!! They are worth this fight!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Hazmat CDL driver

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Being present matters more than anything to me right now! After the loss that I have experienced — losing my grandmother and my mom — it’s important for me to make memories with the people I love, be intentional about the time I spend with them, and the impact I can make in the lives of those around me. My family is everything to me!
