Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Evins
Hi Aaron, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was just 7 years old during the summer of 1996, my neighbor Craig and I discovered a shared love for music. We spent that summer rapping over 3 6 Mafia’s “Tear the Club Up” instrumental CD, playing it on a boom box day after day. With not much else to do, we dove headfirst into writing rhymes and freestyling nonstop. Craig, being six years older and already in high school, pushed me to compete and keep up with him. That friendly competition helped me sharpen my skills.
We scribbled out flows that, looking back, weren’t exactly groundbreaking, but the passion for rapping was undeniable from the start. By the time school resumed, I had become known as one of the best freestylers around, effortlessly dropping punchlines off the top of my head—an essential skill in Texas, where punchline rap was huge. Through middle school, I dominated the freestyle circuit. By high school, I used my first job earnings to build a recording studio and created my debut album, *The Odds*, with my collaborator K-SLANG.
By the time I graduated in 2008, I had two CDs under my belt but little knowledge about turning music into a full-fledged career. So, I joined the Air Force, continuing to write, record, and perform along the way. My military service took me to international stages in South Korea, Italy, and Germany, where I shared my music with audiences across the globe.
When I returned to the U.S., I hit stages in Florida and eventually made my way back home to Texas. My journey culminated in a feature on the United States Air Force’s TV show *Artisan Air*, aired on the AF Live network, sharing my story and celebrating the music that had been such a big part of my life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If someone tells you their journey has been smooth, I’d question their honesty. The road to success is never-ending and remains challenging, even now. In recent years, I’ve evolved from being solely an artist to becoming the driving force behind my artistry—a full-fledged business operator. This transformation allowed me to transition into being a full-time artist, fully supporting myself through my music. One of my close collaborators, Sen-Sā, introduced me to the game-changing book *How to Make It in the New Music Business* by Ari Herstand. It’s a must-read for any artist serious about navigating the industry. The insights have been invaluable in helping me break through personal and professional barriers, particularly the mindset I’ve carried since I started working at 14: relying on a traditional job for a steady paycheck. Breaking away from that mold and embracing self-reliance through music has been one of the toughest hurdles I’ve faced. A key challenge I’m tackling now is creating symbiotic music and content. In today’s landscape, short-form content plays a pivotal role in monetizing music, and learning to balance content creation with music production is an ongoing process. I’m figuring out how to budget effectively and determine which aspects of my work—music or content—deserve the most focus to maximize engagement and returns from my fanbase. It’s a continuous learning experience, but one that’s shaping my path forward.

Any big plans?
The future is looking massive, and I’m ready to take things global! My next big move? Dominating the international circuit with an epic summer tour kicking off in Texas before heading overseas to light up stages in Germany, Romania, Italy, and across England. After spending five months building deep connections with my international fanbase this past year, I’m taking the show straight to them—bigger, louder, and better than ever.
But that’s not all. Early 2025 is going to hit hard with the release of all-new music I’ve been perfecting behind the scenes, paired with fresh, next-level content to match the vibe. I’m also working on a game-changing initiative, teaming up with my fellow military alumni stationed overseas to create a gateway for artists to break into international markets.
This vision isn’t just about me—it’s about building a network where artists from all walks of life can connect, collaborate, and grow their global reach. The dream is to give artists the tools and opportunities they need to perform internationally and build that die-hard fanbase essential for turning music into a full-time career. It’s not just a plan—it’s a movement, and I’m inviting everyone to be part of it.
