Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Charmaura Henderson, Dc Ms
Hi Dr. Charmaura, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Just thinking back on this past year, it fills me with so much gratitude so thank you so much for the opportunity to share a piece of the journey! I didn’t know that this was what God was preparing me for many years ago but now it makes so much sense. I attended thee Parker University and throughout my tinure there I earned my Doctorate of Chiropractic, Master of Science in Functional Nutrion and adopted my beautiful daughter. I’d joined an entrepreneur cohort to develop a business plan to start a mobile chiropractic clinic because by the time I got to clinicals and had been able to observe many great chiropractors; I knew I ultimately didn’t want their lifestyle and that I was being called to practice differently. My daughter is my biggest blessing to date and to have been blessed with such an amazing gift to steward and it didn’t make sense to me to fight so hard to have the opportunity to parent her just have someone else raise her.
A little under a year before I graduated, I was introduced to some successful business owners in the e-commerce space who started to mentor me and teach me universal success principles. Earning access to those relationships literally changed my life and I’m so grateful for them! My coaches recommened I work as an associate for some time to learn the chiropractic business principles and really learn what I wanted and didn’t want in a practice while developing cash flow to be able to eventually use that to fund my practice, so I did. I was an associate for 3 years and had the opportunity to learn from some amazing chiropractors.
While I didn’t think I was ready, God clearly had another plan and thankfully He equips the called! He will also make provision and put the right people in the right places. I was let go from my previous in job 4 days before Christmas of 2023 I didn’t have time to sulk because I have a daughter to provide for, it was right in the middle of holiday celebrations and I was the maid of honor in my sister’s wedding on New Year’s Day 2024! By the grace of God and with His provision, I”opened the doors” to my mobile chiropractic and holistic wellness clinic on January 2, 2024.
Within the last 10 months I have been gotten the opportunity and pleasure to serve so many individuals and families, be IN the community and truly see healing and transformation take place in their lives, This is literally just the beginning so I’m excited to see how God continues to write the story of MSW and Dr. Charm!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! I think my biggest struggle has been me. I spent the first few months having to work on changing my mindset. I’d been a business owner in the e-commerce space for almost 3 years and the time and effort it takes to build that compared to being a CEO of a traditional business is completely different. I had to learn how to manage my calendar because I’d really never had to being a student for most of my life and an employee.
While I’ve been blessed with some amazing people that have helped along the way, outside of being the doctor treating all of the patients I’ve also had to handle every role required to run a business which can be HARD. Especially when doing so while still actively growing an e-commerce buiness and being a mom to a 6 year old.
The biggest struggles has been learning how to truly lead myself well so that I can gain the confidence and competence to run and grow a successful practice.

There are many ways to practice the art of Chiropractic. I choose to focus on the nervous system as a whole. Your brain HAS to be in communication with your nerves which tell your body what to do and how to function. If there is disruption to that flow, you experience dis-ease; all that means is things don’t function the way they were designed to. My role is to provide a chiropractic adjustment to remove the pressure on the nerve that’s causing dysfunction in an attempt to restore proper communication between the brain and your nerves and in turn increase the function of that area!
There are many things that set me apart from others but I think the biggest one is the fact that I travel to my patients. I’m able to see their environment and how that could be contributing to the dysfunction of their nervous system and give better recommendations on how to improve that. I’m proud of the fact that patients report things like “I’m smiling more”, “I didn’t think that this could actually get better until I started seeing you”, “I’ve never experienced Chiropractic like this before, I’m not just feeling better but my entire life is better” or “anytime I see a sunflower I think of you”! It’s just a testament to the fact that no matter how it comes along or what the journey looks like saying yes to God and being obedient is better.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice is to lead yourself well first! Get a grip on your calendar and PLAN for success. Know what you want and what you’re trying to accomplish. Find someone who is willing and able to exemplify and coach you on what success, however you define it, looks like; and make sure they actually have fruit on the tree. Find you someone like my traditional business coach,Chastity Jeff, who’s going to actually hold you accountable, who’s not afraid to ruffle your feathers and help you get “Under the Numbers” of business ownership while being one of your biggest supporters and encouragers. But most importantly remember, God’s plan is just better so let Him lead and watch where you’ll go!
