Life & Work with Lynze Schmidt of Decatur, TX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynze Schmidt

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve wanted to be a hairstylist for as long as I can remember. My mom also does hair and owned her own salon when I was growing up, so I don’t remember a time where I wasn’t in a salon environment. I always begged to go to work with her, I loved being around all the clients and other stylists. When it came time to decided what I was going to do after high school, beauty school was a no brainer.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I feel like I’ve been very lucky in my journey. Of course there will always be little bumps in the road here and there, but overall the salon has always been my happy place.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a stylist that specializes in blonding and lived-in color services. I love doing everything from a bright blonde to a soft, “just kissed by the sun” color. I am really proud of the clientele I’ve built here in Texas. I’ve worked really hard to create a fun and relaxing environment and over time I’ve been able to attract clients that aline with the style of hair I like to do. I take a lot of pride in continuing my education, and my biggest goal is to just make every guest in my chair feel special and beautiful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’m not sure if it’s luck, hard work, or both, but I do feel so lucky that I’ve been able to turn a love and passion into a career that allows me to live a beautiful life.
