Check Out Caroline Randolph’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Randolph.

Caroline Randolph

Hi Caroline, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been taking photographs as a hobby for several years, but felt a nudge to turn a creative outlet into a small business a couple of years ago. When our kids started school, I had a bit more time to focus on it — sometimes starting a business as a full-time mom can be a slow burn, but I’m thankful I’ve been able to do both. I love my clients and documenting their sweet families/watching their kids grow up. It’s been a blast!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It can sometimes be a struggle to balance home life with work life, but one great thing about being a small business owner is having the freedom to create my own schedule. I can plan sessions when our kids are in school, and edit after bed time. The juggling act isn’t always easy but it’s fun!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Dallas photographer who specializes in newborn, fresh 48 and family photography. I’m a good mix between documentary and portrait photography — meaning I always want to capture a traditional posed photo or two, but love the imperfect, raw and real moments that happen in between. I’m proud of how I’ve been able to grow my business over the past 2 years while still giving my main focus to my family.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I was born and raised in Dallas, so I love it for a lot of reasons. We live 5 minutes away from my parents so our kids get to see their grandparents all the time. Many of my old school friends live here as well. Dallas is a huge city but feels like a small town in so many ways, especially if you grew up here. I could do without the traffic though!
