Hi Vanessa & Chelsiah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Chelsiah and Vanessa’s journey began in 2013 when they met while working together. After a year of collaboration, they decided to embark on their own professional paths but remained in close contact, offering each other support throughout their careers.
In the face of rising inflation, they shared a desire to create high-quality products at reasonable prices, both for themselves and fellow beauty professionals. This vision came to fruition in 2022 with the launch of Silk Foxx LLP. Today, Silk Foxx is the parent company of several brands, including:
Silk Foxx Beauty, offering face and body waxing services in Arlington, TX.
Bakery Babes Wax Supplies, a hypoallergenic wax line inspired by their shared love of baked goods and the kitchen.
Sweet Glaze Oil, a line of all-natural oils for ingrown hairs and body care.
Both Bakery Babes and Sweet Glaze Oil offer nationwide shipping, making their products accessible to beauty professionals across the country.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Chelsiah and Vanessa’s journey into the company has been marked by significant challenges, but they have shown resilience and teamwork in navigating these obstacles. Entering the supply chain industry was an eye-opener for both of them, revealing the immense amount of work that goes into the backend operations of a company. Despite the complexity, they’ve managed to thrive by leveraging each other’s strengths. When one faces a weakness or difficulty, the other steps in to offer support, making their partnership a strong foundation for overcoming adversity. Their ability to balance each other creates a dynamic and effective team, which has been key to their success.

Our services range from professional body and face waxing at our luxurious salon, to our high-quality product lines—Sweet Glaze and Bakery Babes—designed for both clients and beauty professionals.
What sets us apart is our deep knowledge of the industry. We don’t just understand the technical aspects of waxing; we’ve been on both sides of the business. From perfecting our craft as service providers to mastering the complexities of running a successful business, we are uniquely positioned to offer not only exceptional services but valuable insights into the beauty industry.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Certainly, the pandemic played a pivotal role in driving our business expansion and eventual merger. As part of the service industry, we experienced a shutdown of about three months. Given the possibility of such an event happening again, we knew we needed to find a way to scale our businesses and maintain income without having to rely on providing physical services.
