Hi Dr. Ayana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Never did I dream of becoming a chiropractor. In fact, it wasn’t even on my radar. My heart’s desire was to work with kids, to help them heal and grow, to teach and counsel. But most importantly, I yearned for the freedom and fulfillment of being my own boss.
I’ve wandered down many paths, each one leading me closer to God’s divine plan. It was a series of divine appointments and perfect timing that ultimately led me to where I am today.
One night, as I was playfully discussing my dream practice with my best friend, Cecilia, the Holy Spirit descended upon me. I began to prophesy about my future, and in that moment, Divine Village was born. It was September 13, 2023, a day that would forever change my life. January 2024, Divine Village LLC was certified and ready to serve!
Divine Village is more than just a chiropractic practice. It’s a sanctuary, a haven of healing and hope. It’s a place where women and children can find the support and care they deserve. I’ve seen firsthand the struggles that women face, especially those whom have children with disabilities, pregnancy, and postpartum issues. The healthcare system can often be cold and impersonal, leaving patients feeling unheard and misunderstood.
As a mother myself, I know the importance of feeling connected and supported. At Divine Village, we prioritize patient-centered care. We listen, we understand, and we offer compassionate care. We believe in the power of prayer and the healing touch of God. We’re committed to helping our patients achieve optimal health and well-being.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A significant challenge was operating as a mobile chiropractor for the first six months. While this offered flexibility, it also presented unique logistical hurdles. From scheduling efficient routes to ensuring I had all the necessary equipment at each appointment, I had to be incredibly organized and adaptable. Additionally, working from different locations required me to maintain a high level of professionalism and create a calming atmosphere in various settings.
May, I worked fulltime again until September bringing my hours down to part time so I could focus on building my practice as well as being present for my son. In late September, I became an independent contractor with Balanced Beacon, a mental health therapy space, operating my own practice within their facility. I am grateful to Dr. Reshaunda Strickland and Dr. LaFonya Jones-Hines for their support in helping me establish my practice and providing a space to see patients.
Another challenge was marketing myself to attract new patients. As a solo practitioner, I had to wear many hats, including that of a marketer. I invested time and effort into building a strong online presence, utilizing social media platforms to connect with potential clients. I also networked with local businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizations to spread the word about my services.
One of the most daunting hurdles I faced was securing the necessary funding. Not just for my new business, but also living. This leap of Faith I took after losing my job December 2023, was truly a LEAP. What if I told you, God sustained me the whole year? I could have been evicted, I could have lost my car but through every challenging month. Despite these challenges, God provided! I sing all my praises unto Him and thank Him for keeping me.

Divine Village isn’t just a chiropractic practice; it’s a divine calling. A ministry, if you will. Again, let me reiterate- this wasn’t my original plan, but God had a better plan for me. He nudged me, guided me, and placed me on this path.
As a mother, woman, and follower of Christ, I’m led by the Holy Spirit in every decision, every adjustment. I believe that true healing comes from within, from the power of God. It’s about optimizing your nervous system, the master control system of your body. By addressing the root cause of your discomfort, not just the symptoms, we can unlock your body’s innate healing potential.
I’m passionate about working with women and children, especially children with disabilities. My background in behavioral health gives me a unique perspective on the mind-body connection. Together, we can navigate the challenges of life and emerge stronger.
Remember, as B.J. Palmer, D.C. said, “The power that made the body, heals the body.” And that power, my friend, is within you.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I envision chiropractic becoming an integral part of mainstream healthcare. As more people seek natural and holistic approaches to wellness, chiropractic will continue to grow and evolve. It will no longer be viewed as an alternative treatment but as a foundational pillar of preventive healthcare. Chiropractors will be at the forefront of wellness, working alongside other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans. We’ll see a rise in specialized chiropractic practices, catering to specific populations like athletes, pregnant women, children, seniors, and animals.
The use of advanced technologies, such as digital X-rays and therapeutic laser therapy, will further enhance the precision and effectiveness of chiropractic care. Additionally, research will continue to validate the benefits of chiropractic. Ultimately, chiropractic will be recognized as a key player in promoting optimal health and well-being for people of all ages. By addressing the root causes of pain and dysfunction, chiropractors will empower individuals to live their best lives.
