Today we’d like to introduce you to Micaela Gutierrez
Hi Micaela , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 2018, I was finishing up studies connected closely to my filipino cultural roots: medical/therapeutic field. Towards the 2nd to last semester of college, I began to process the wrestle between loving what I do and my career of choice questioning why they couldn’t be the same thing when all of a sudden I was hit with the revelation that the two can be ONE if I have faith. What starts as stirred up hope can create a lifelong tree of dreams fulfilled.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning, passion was the initial stirring. How hard is it to find something beautiful and capturing it with a click of a button? As Bright Ones Management began expanding into copywriting, media managing, increased clientele and visions with specific routes I would definitely say it was stretching. The beauty of the struggle was the experiential learning: what went well here, what communication needs to be filled in this gap, and most of all what can I do differently. I would say in the honor of the work, there’s never a bad or wrong decision when you’re working with your heart and you care for the people along the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
From 2018, Bright Ones Photography was born from what started as simply a young girl who loved visiting downtowns and capturing local shops and posting them on instagram. As years passed, Bright Ones Photography transitioned to Bright Ones Management, as my photography evolved and grew into Media Managing and Graphic Designing for small local businesses beyond the capture but in addition sharing the heart and vision of partnering with companies to shift this world’s paradigm from what it was to what it can be! I’ve been given the honor to share stories and build history with different bright ones and bright moments to better this world and birth the endless beauty is carries on the inside. I am most proud to be able to fight against the lie that there is no beauty to be found in any small thing. We live in a dream.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
While some have “Eureka!” moments, it may not always be like that. There is glory and joy in the simple life we may see as “mundane” but my light bulb came simply from asking a question: “Why can’t my career and what I love to do be the same? Why can’t the two be one?”. The revealing of your dreams birth through questions alone because your heart is longing to answer it. Do not work to be perfect or striving for perfection because in the end we cannot do things in our own strength. See the joy in the hard moments, in the writers block, in the creativity pauses and take a walk when you’re unmotivated, take a breather. It’s all about doing what you love, not doing and doing until you don’t love it anymore. That’s how longevity and sustenance remain, through faith in the imperfections. We’re never gonna get it right, we’re going to forget to post sometimes, we’ll have different life transitions, but it’s not what we do that makes us……it’s who we are and that will never change.

- Media Managing: $800-1100 per month
- Reels/Graphics $50 per graphic created, $35 per reel
- Videographer for Event: $65/hr
