Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Birdine
Hi Eric, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Eric Birdine is a gifted and talented artist recognized for his creativity, energy and vibrancy in songwriting, ministering in song and directing choirs. Anointed by God, he has become a sought after “Gospel Professional”. His musical journey has taken him across the country to share Christ through the ministry of song. Eric’s experience includes sharing the stage with and singing background vocals for some of gospels greats such as Kirk Franklin, Myron Butler, Jonathan Nelson, Lyle Lovett, For King and Country, Karen Clark-Sheard, Sherri Jones-Moffett, Kim Burrell, Chrystal Rucker, Kelontae Gavin, Michael Lampkin, Trace Atkins, Beverly Crawford, Vincent Bohanan, Prophet Gary Sprewell, Tamela Mann, Myron Williams; just to name a few.
Eric has been able to lend his tenor background vocal to a few project beyond the gospel arena with artist such as Mariah Carey (2021 Fall In Love at Christmas), Jennifer Hudson (2024 The Gift of Love), Justin Bieber (2020 Holy feat. Chance the Rapper) and Demi Lovato (20202 Commander In Chief).
Eric’s success has not been sudden nor overnight. Eric was the recipient of the KHVN Radio’s 2017 Chris Simpson Music Award winner. Eric was also the recipient of the 2018 Minister of Music Debora White Ministries Award. Eric has been blessed to release a couple CDs, The Message Vol. I – High Praise and The Message Vol.2 – Bless His Name which debuted in the top 5 on the Gospel Billboard Charts. In May 2022, Eric released his first solo single “It’s In My Praise” which also debuted in the top 15 on the Gospel Billboard charts! Eric also had the opportunity to write and record a song with the GMWA Delaware Chapter “We Praise You” which made made it to the top 50 on the Billboard charts. Eric had the opportunity to lead an amazing group of singers, “The Messengers” which were a group of ministers, ministers of music, and leaders of their own individual ministries. God allowed The Messengers under the leadership of Eric to appear on TBN (Trinity Broadcast Network) with Jonathan Nelson and the Legendary Dorothy Norwood. Eric Birdine and the Messengers were Nominees for several awards and the winner of the Texas Gospel Excellence Award 2020 “Ensemble of The Year” and the first recipient of KHVN’s Home Grown Gospel “Artists of the Year” Award. God has afforded many other awards to Eric Birdine and his ministry. He was also recently an honoree at the 2023 DFW Independent Artist Gospel Awards, 2023 Rhythm of Gospel Hall of Fame and recipient of the 2023 Torchbearer Award from the Dallas Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
Eric Birdine’s ministry reach has expanded into television as well. A song that was written by Eric Birdine was featured in the hit Bounce TV Series “Saints and Sinners” led by the legendary Kelly Price.
Eric Birdine continue to spread God’s word through the ministry of music as the opportunities continue to overtake him. The harvest has been plentiful for every seed Eric Birdine has sown, and he has responded with faithfulness as he continues to serve at his home church, The Potter’s House Dallas, where the incomparable Bishop TD Jakes is pastor. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road but a necessary one. Anything that’s worth having sometimes takes hardship and difficulty for you to really appreciate it.

As stated in the bio, I have several music projects out and last year I released my first inspiration book.
