Alexis Paskins

Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a desire to connect with people through relatable, meaningful content. My journey started with a passion for beauty and natural hair. I began experimenting with my own routines and sharing tips on social media, which slowly grew into an audience of women who resonated with my content.

Over time, I realized my purpose was bigger than just beauty—I wanted to create a community for women in their late 20s, navigating life, faith, and self-discovery. This led me to expand into lifestyle content, blending my love for makeup, hair tutorials, and DIY projects with vlogs that showcase real-life experiences.

As I grew, I also ventured into entrepreneurship. I rebranded my Christian hair care business, Genesis Hair Co, to celebrate natural hair and faith. I’m also co-founding Mosaic Ave a clothing line inspired by the beauty of diversity and collaboration.

Balancing content creation and business ownership has been a challenge, but my faith and discipline have guided me every step of the way. Today, I’m proud to create content that not only inspires others but also uplifts them, whether it’s through beauty tips, sharing my entrepreneurial journey, or simply connecting on a personal level.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has definitely had its bumps, but every challenge has been a lesson. One of the toughest decisions I’ve had to make was starting fresh with a new YouTube channel, Lexis Room, and Instagram, @lexisroom_. This was after building a previous channel with 300,000 subscribers and an Instagram account with 47,000 followers. It was a leap of faith, but I knew I needed a fresh start to align my content with where I am now in life.

At the same time, I’m also rebranding my business channel Starring Lexis, where I share my entrepreneurial journey. Managing multiple channels and consistently creating content while building my businesses has been a challenge in itself. Balancing creativity with strategy, and staying organized enough to execute both, can feel overwhelming at times.

I’ve also faced personal and health challenges, like navigating chronic migraines, and learning how to prioritize self-care while juggling so much. But the biggest lessons have come from trusting God’s timing, staying authentic, and learning that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.

These decisions weren’t easy, but they’ve allowed me to create a platform and community that feel aligned with my purpose, which makes all the challenges worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a multifaceted content creator and entrepreneur, specializing in beauty, lifestyle, and business content. I create engaging tutorials on makeup, natural hair care, and GelX nails, and more. My work extends beyond beauty, on my business channel, Starring Lexis , I document my entrepreneurial journey and provide insights for other new business owners.

One of the things I’m most proud of is my new YouTube channel, Lexisroom where I vlog my journey of navigating life, going through personal changes, and working to better myself. These vlogs focus on strengthening my life and faith in Christ while inspiring my audience to embrace their own growth and authenticity.

As the founder of Genesis Hair Co, a Christian hair care brand, I’ve worked hard to create platforms that uplift and inspire.

What sets me apart is my transparency and relatability. I don’t shy away from sharing the real, imperfect parts of my journey—whether it’s balancing multiple ventures, navigating self-discovery, or deepening my faith. I want my audience to know they’re not alone in their struggles and that growth is always possible with faith, perseverance, and authenticity.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality I believe has been most important to my success is resilience. Life and business are full of unexpected challenges, and being able to adapt, stay focused, and keep pushing forward has been crucial for me. Whether it was starting over with a new YouTube channel and Instagram account, rebranding my business, or balancing my entrepreneurial and creative pursuits, resilience has allowed me to embrace change and grow through it.

Another key characteristic is authenticity. Staying true to who I am , my values, my faith in Christ, and my mission has helped me build a community of people who genuinely connect with my journey. I’ve learned that people resonate with realness, not perfection, and that’s been a cornerstone of my content and my work.

Lastly, I’d say discipline plays a huge role. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and it takes consistent effort, planning, and a willingness to keep showing up even on the hard days. Combining resilience, authenticity, and discipline has been the foundation of everything I’ve built.
