Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharlottte Bouniol
Hi Sharlottte, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
HI! Im Sharlotte Bouniol. I am 35 years old and currently live in Aledo, Texas with my Husband, Cyril, and our 4 yr old son, Luka.
I founded GB Graphix, LLC is 2015 as a way to help entrepreneurs and small businesses with Branding, Marketing, and social media graphics. In 2017 I expanded my services to include website design. I believe that My business background along with my experience and focus in marketing gives me a leg up as a graphic designer. I understand Marketing just as much as Design (if not more) and when it comes to strategizing or creating a campaign, I’m great at working through this with my client to create the most eye-catching and relevant concept for their target audience. I’m a marketing professional who knows how to design….but that confuses people so I just say I’m a graphic designer and then weave my marketing mind into each and every design.
Here are some interesting facts about my life:
– I grew up with my Dad, Mom, and older brother in a tiny town of about 2,000 people called Merkel, Texas. I wanted to get out of there as soon as I could so I graduated early and went to college at 16. My parents are still married to this day and the unconditional love they have for one another is Inspiring.
– I’m 100% millennial and I love being a part of this generation.
– I’m a Leo (Aug 2) and have definitely been guilty of that “main character energy” 😂however, I’d say this has been tamed quite a bit since having my son. Now he is the star of the show.
– I met my husband at Abilene Christian University and it was Love at first site. From the day I met him until now and for forever, I only have eyes for this beautiful French man! He is the best and I’m so in love with him.
– My husband is French and he grew up in the southwest region of France, where his family still lives. Their backyard is a picturesque view of the Pyrenees mountains and it’s absolutely breathtaking!
– I have a Tiny Silver Chinchilla Persian cat, Yoshi. She’s literally “tiny” weighing 3.5 lbs full grown.
– I started my own business in 2015 on Cinco de Mayo! I have a business degree in Marketing and job experience in Sales, Strategy, Branding, and Design. Prior to starting my own business, I was Chief Marketing Officer for a financial planning firm.
-Over the last decade, I have designed over 500 logos, 40+websites, hundreds of marketing materials and THOUSANDS of graphics for social media for my clients
– I started and built my business with $0 to my name (I actually had $30k in credit card debt at the time!) and within 10 months’ time, I managed to bring in $100,000 in sales! I paid off the debt immediately and I have been able to sustain my client base and income over the last decade.
– I’m highly creative and my curiosity helps foster that creativity. I ask lots of questions and sometimes that can come off as me being direct but really it’s just me fully wrapping my mind around something and trying to understand it on a deeper level.
– I have a high emotional intelligence that allows me to connect with others quickly and easily and also makes me very empathetic towards others going through something difficult…sometimes to the point where I have to tell myself to snap out of it and that their reality isn’t my reality. 😂 But I feel for others on a deep level.
– I have always wanted to stand out! But not necessarily “be different”. I like to introduce or display a look, a concept, a trend, a design that is different than what others are used to seeing but still something they find themselves super attracted to. Simply put, I’m great at introducing others to new visuals and inspiring them to jump on board.
– I’m super optimistic and a figure-it-out kind of girl!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In May of 2015 I was fired from my $30,000 a year job because of a DWI ( of which my blood alcohol level came back under the legal limit 🙄)….So with no job , $30k in credit card debt, bills to pay, and the ambition to save my reputation and to solidify my belief in myself; I started my own business. I was at my lowest so my mindset was that I could only go up and that I’d prove everyone wrong. This venture HAD to work- I didn’t have any other option.
In the first 10 months I managed to bring in six figures and have been able to sustain this for the last decade now.
