I started my career in 2017, dedicating myself to learning all the tools and techniques needed to excel in the hair industry. While in school, I realized my true passion wasn’t just about styling—it was about creating consistent, healthy haircare routines that my clients could rely on.
Being natural all my life, I grew up with a strong foundation in maintaining healthy hair. My mom instilled in me the importance of regular care and a structured haircare schedule, which became the blueprint for the services I offer today. Those early lessons shaped my perspective and helped me prioritize hair health over trends, creating long-term results for my clients.
Since then, I’ve worked hard to build a career that’s not only about providing exceptional services like my signature ‘Round Brush Silk press ‘ but also about educating my clients on how to maintain healthy, beautiful hair. From mastering my craft to working with celebrities and launching unique programs like the Chic Healthy Haircare Journey, my path has been rooted in consistency, passion, and a genuine love for what I do.
This 8 year professsional journey has been about more than hair for me—it’s about empowerment. I want every client who sits in my chair to leave not just looking amazing but feeling confident and informed about how to care for their hair.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. My journey has been full of twists and turns, and each challenge has shaped me into the hairstylist and businesswoman I am today.
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency doesn’t always guarantee immediate results. In the early days, I dealt with loyal clients who no-showed without warning, which made it difficult to maintain my schedule and revenue. Those “hair chronicles,” as I call them, were tough, but they taught me the importance of setting boundaries and implementing clear policies to protect my time and energy.
I’ve also faced layoffs in my clientele, where I had to rebuild my book from scratch. It’s a humbling experience when people you’ve poured into as clients are no longer in your chair. Those moments tested my faith, but they also motivated me to refine my craft, diversify my offerings, and market myself more effectively.
One of the most emotionally challenging parts of this journey has been losing two of my longtime clients to untimely deaths. They weren’t just clients—they felt like family. Their support and loyalty meant the world to me, and their absence is deeply felt.
In addition, I’ve navigated unsuccessful business rentals, which came with their own set of challenges. Finding the right space to operate and grow my brand has been a trial-and-error process, and I’ve learned the importance of patience and making intentional decisions about where and how I conduct my business.
Despite these struggles, I’ve found strength in resilience. Every setback has been an opportunity to learn, pivot, and grow. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve built a business that reflects my passion, professionalism, and commitment to healthy haircare. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been worth it

I am a hairstylist and entrepreneur specializing in creating healthy, beautiful hair transformations. My work goes beyond styling—I focus on the long-term health of my clients’ hair. Since starting my career in 2017, I’ve become known for my silk presses, including my signature service, the ‘Break the Bones Silk Press,’ which incorporates a protein treatment for stronger, healthier hair.
My services are diverse and tailored to meet my clients’ needs. I offer bridal hairstyling for weddings, house calls for those seeking convenience and exclusivity, and structured programs like the Chic Healthy Haircare Journey, which helps clients maintain consistent, healthy haircare routines. I’ve also introduced the ‘Man Cave’ service category to cater specifically to men.
One of the highlights of my career has been working as a preferred stylist for the American Country Music Awards. It’s been an honor to bring my expertise to such a prestigious event. Additionally, I’ve partnered with Kaleidoscope Hair Care, where I’ve collaborated on projects and promoted products that align with my passion for healthy haircare.
I’ve also had the privilege of engaging with audiences through speaking engagements, sharing my journey, tips, and insights about the industry.
What I’m most proud of is the trust and relationships I’ve built with my clients. Whether it’s creating a flawless bridal look, styling for a major event, or helping someone achieve their healthiest hair yet, I love seeing the confidence and joy my work brings.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to haircare. I focus on education and empowerment, teaching my clients how to care for their hair between appointments. My natural hair journey and professional expertise give me a unique perspective, allowing me to connect with my clients on a deeper level.
At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to creating an exceptional experience—whether you’re sitting in my chair or I’m bringing my services directly to you. It’s not just about the hairstyle; it’s about helping you look and feel your best.
What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is the freedom I’ve been able to create for myself as both a mom and an entrepreneur. Being a single mom has its challenges, but it’s also given me the determination to build a career that allows me to show up fully for my son while pursuing my passion. The flexibility I’ve created means I can be there for the little moments that matter most, and that’s something I’ll always cherish.
This freedom has also allowed me to focus on my personal growth. As a first-time entrepreneur, I’ve made it a priority to educate myself on financial literacy. It’s been empowering to take control of my future, not just for myself but also for my son, ensuring I can provide for him and build something lasting.
Another thing that brings me joy is making women smile. There’s nothing like seeing the immediate confidence boost a fresh hairstyle brings. Being able to achieve stunning results quickly and efficiently means I can make an impact, even on the busiest of days. Helping my clients leave my chair feeling beautiful and empowered is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
Ultimately, I’m happiest knowing I’m making a difference—whether it’s by being there for my family, sharing knowledge, or creating moments of joy and confidence for my clients.
