Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenyon Glover.
Hi Kenyon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. I was a kid from the country with a big dream, a dream of making it to the NBA. And though many people doubted that dream, my parents instilled in me the value of hard work, believing in myself and never ever quit or give up on my dream. And I never did.
I worked and believed my way all the way to the NBA. Sure, it was a very tough journey with a lot of doubt, bumps in the road, Discouragement, and disappointments. But I didn’t give up. I kept working. I made it to the NBA and was given a shot by the Milwaukee Bucks franchise. And shortly after that, I was hit with a career ending injury that destroyed my dream within a years time.
Then I got into modeling and entered the world of entertainment which took off a few years later. And I have now been in the entertainment industry for almost 20yrs. I have been blessed to consistently work as an actor, Filmmaker, Motivational Speaker, author and now an Ordained Minister.
I gave my life to Christ in 2020 and God has completely turned my life around for the good and I serve God through Ministry, film, television and writing books.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road at all. I’ve had to deal with major depression because of the Impact my career ending injury had on me from leaving the NBA. That was a very devastating moment in my life. I gave up hope and even attempted suicide on multiple times.
Dealing with mental health for 15yrs was the biggest obstacle I faced. And then getting married and going through a divorce, and being told that I could never have kids added more fuel to the fire of my depression.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am now an Award Winning Actor and Author. I have written 3 books now which are available on Amazon. I am also a Filmmaker that Produce film and Television content. I have my own film production company, I also launched my own Ministry called Faithful and Focused Ministries.
I have been blessed to be able to travel around the world leading people to Christ and making an Impact in the lives of millions of people. The goal is to reach billions of people this year, 2025.
I also launched Impact Fashion Showcase in Dallas, Texas in which we had our first major event in the summer of 2024. Impact Fashion Showcase is an event impacting mental health awareness by donating the proceeds to organizations that specialize in mental health programs.
