Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Jeffries.
Hi Janine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve spent my entire career in sales, but I realized that working in an industry I didn’t believe in left me feeling unfulfilled. About ten years ago, my family and I moved to Texas from Miami—a decision I absolutely cherish. It was during this transition that I recognized life is too short to be unhappy, so I made the bold choice to leave my corporate job and focus on raising my family.
Now, I’m excited to pursue my true passion: fashion and design. I’ve always loved these fields, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to merge my sales expertise with my passion through home staging. I see home staging as a creative art that helps sellers present their homes in a way that allows potential buyers to envision themselves living there.
The statistics around home staging speak volumes—staged homes often sell faster and at higher prices. This not only benefits the seller and the realtor but also brings me immense joy. At the end of the day, while financial success is important, my true motivation is the happiness I get from helping others and creating spaces that people love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One major struggle was overcoming self-doubt. I had to remind myself that my sales experience and my passion for design could translate beautifully into this new career. Building confidence in my creative abilities took time, especially since home staging involves not just aesthetics, but also understanding market trends and buyer psychology.
Additionally, I faced the challenge of establishing a network in a new industry. While I had my sales background, I had to learn the specifics of home staging, from sourcing materials to developing relationships with realtors and clients. It required a lot of research, networking, and sometimes facing rejection.
Despite these challenges, each step forward has been so rewarding. I’ve learned to embrace the process, make friends out of clients, celebrate small victories, and truly appreciate the journey of turning my passion into a profession.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in occupied home staging and consultations, helping homeowners enhance their spaces while they continue living in them. My approach is all about collaboration; I work closely with clients and their realtors to understand their unique needs and vision for their homes.
In occupied staging, my goal is to create inviting, functional spaces that resonate with potential buyers without disrupting the homeowners’ daily lives. I focus on decluttering, reimagining layouts, and adding design elements that highlight the home’s best features. This often involves guiding clients on how to maximize their existing furniture and decor, ensuring that the space feels personal yet appealing to a wide audience. It can be scary but we make the process fun! We’ll bring you back to the reason you bought your home in the first place and only you have that unique vision to present to the next buyer!
What I’m most proud of is the positive feedback I receive from clients who appreciate the seamless process. Many have shared how empowered they feel to take actionable steps in staging their home. It’s fulfilling to see their homes transformed, knowing that it not only enhances the market appeal but also elevates their everyday living experience.
What sets me apart in the realm of occupied home staging is my strong emphasis on communication and partnership. I strive to make the process enjoyable and stress-free, offering tailored solutions that help homeowners feel confident in their decisions. My background in sales allows me to bring a strategic mindset to the table, ensuring that our efforts translate into quicker sales and better returns for my clients.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I know how stressful selling your home can be. Even just preparing the home for the listing photos is overwhelming! I’ve bought and sold 3 homes, including one new construction, which is a whole different set of challenges, and I get it! Having gone through this process myself gives me an insider view of what the seller goes through. We walk you through the entire process together with your realtor, making sure you’re comfortable with each step.
During the consultation process and beyond, we provide guidance that will educate and keep you up to date on the process of staging. We make sure you’re aware of what happens next and how it should feel, and that’s what makes us unique.
We incorporate the sellers preferences and styles while still ensuring broad appeal. You’re still living there, after all!
We offer post-staging support and advice on how to maintain the staged look while the home is on the market. We ensure you feel confident and supported while moving through the selling process.
