Community Highlights: Meet Vanessa McClure of The Blueprint Impact

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa McClure

Hi Vanessa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I never set out to be an entrepreneur. In fact, if you would have asked me a few years ago, I would have told you my purpose was to stand behind the visionaries, not to become one myself. Growing up, I didn’t have the traditional support system many rely on. Raised by a patchwork of individuals, most of whom were my biological family, I collected wisdom from each of them—small, invaluable nuggets that, over time, shaped my perspective and approach to life.

My unconventional upbringing instilled resilience and adaptability, turning me into a jack of all trades. Every challenge faced and lesson learned became part of my toolkit. But if there’s one thing that lights a fire in my soul, it’s watching the spark in someone else’s eyes when their vision comes to life. That’s where I found my true passion: taking The Blueprint of others’ ideas and transforming them into reality. I’m not just an executor; I’m a master at it, thriving on the energy of turning dreams into tangible success.

This passion ultimately led me to start my own business, The Blueprint Impact, a company dedicated to helping visionaries bring their ideas to life. Through The Blueprint Impact, I’ve been able to merge my skills with my purpose, becoming the bridge between big ideas and their successful execution.

Though my journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t planned, I now embraces it as part of my evolving story. I’m proof that even when life doesn’t go according to script, the chapters that unfold can lead to something extraordinary. And while I’m still a work in progress, one thing is clear—I’m not just building businesses; I’m building legacies.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. The journey has been anything but smooth. When I first stepped into entrepreneurship, I knew nothing about running a business. I didn’t have a roadmap, and I didn’t know anyone outside of the faith-based community who I could turn to for advice. That lack of mentorship in the broader business world made the learning curve steep and, at times, overwhelming.

One of the first major struggles I faced was determining client compatibility. At first, I thought that just because I could execute a task, it meant I should. But I quickly learned that just because I have the skills doesn’t mean every client is the right fit. That realization didn’t come easy—I had to navigate difficult client relationships to understand that not everyone is my client.

Another tough lesson was learning to value my work. In the beginning, I found myself compromising on pricing because I felt bad when someone said they couldn’t afford my services. But I soon discovered that underpricing myself didn’t just hurt my bottom line—it left me overworked, underpaid, and drained. It took being on the losing end of those situations to realize the importance of sticking to my worth, no matter what. Now, I understand that the right clients will recognize the value I bring and will be willing to invest in it.

But just when I thought I’d have to figure it all out on my own, an angel came into my life. This person didn’t just offer business advice—they started the process of teaching me how to do business the smart way. They showed me how to walk confidently in who I am, how to reframe my thinking for the betterment of my business, and how to better serve my clients without compromising myself. Their guidance has helped me shift from just surviving in entrepreneurship to truly thriving as our journey continues.

Every struggle taught me something critical about business and about myself. The road hasn’t been easy, but each bump, each lesson, and the support I found along the way has made me stronger, more confident, and more intentional in how I run The Blueprint Impact.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At The Blueprint Impact LLC, we are all about transforming visions into reality. We are a Consulting & Project Management Company dedicated to helping our clients execute their ideas with precision and excellence. Whether it’s consulting on strategies, building strong organizational foundations through leadership and staff training, implementing policies and procedures, or managing events of any size from start to finish, our mission is to ensure that every detail aligns with our clients’ goals.

What sets us apart is our ability to tailor solutions to each unique client. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, we dive deep into understanding the heart of each vision and then craft personalized strategies to bring those visions to life. We specialize in working with non-profits, for-profits, churches, small businesses, and large corporations, offering services that range from short-term projects to long-term partnerships.

Our offerings include consulting on resources and strategies, leadership training for both ministry and business, administrative support like developing policies, procedures, and necessary documents, as well as event management, social media management, marketing materials, and even book launch services. If there’s a need, we’re ready to discuss and customize our services to meet it.

What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is our reputation for being the go-to team when it comes to execution. We’re known for turning complex ideas into actionable plans and seeing them through to completion with excellence. Our clients trust us not only because we deliver results, but because we care about their success as much as they do.

At The Blueprint Impact, we don’t just manage projects—we make visions tangible, sustainable, and impactful. That’s the blueprint we live by.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When it comes to finding a mentor, the key is to look for someone who’s been there—but not just been there, someone who has truly mastered their space and continues to grow. A great mentor isn’t just successful; they’re also willing to be stretched themselves. You want someone who doesn’t mind being an example, someone who’s open to letting you watch them navigate the business world in real time. The right mentor will be vulnerable, transparent about their own mistakes, and committed to making sure you don’t fall into the same traps they did. It’s not just about guidance—it’s about learning from their journey, both the wins and the losses.

As for networking, what I’ve learned is simple: you just have to do it. Whether you’re walking into a room by yourself or with a friend, you can’t expect to grow if you don’t put yourself out there. You can’t expect people to know about your work if you’re not sharing it. For me, that’s been a process. I’ve had to push past my shyness and unlearn the mentality I had before becoming an entrepreneur—that just being in the room was enough, and I wasn’t expected (or allowed) to speak.

Now, I’m learning to get out of my comfort zone, to open my mouth, and to recognize that my voice and presence matter. I’ve realized that intimidation can’t be the thing that holds me back from the next opportunity or open door. The more I step out, the more I see that networking isn’t just about collecting contacts—it’s about building real relationships that can open doors for both you and the people you connect with.
