Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Johnson
Hi Angela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For years, I found myself trapped in a cycle of rejection and unhealthy relationships. I struggled with my identity, constantly feeling unseen and not enough. One defining moment was when I became pregnant and was once again rejected by my child’s father. The shame, the loneliness, and the weight of rejection were overwhelming. I kept asking myself—’Am I even worthy of love and purpose?
In the midst of my pain, I had an encounter with God that changed everything. I realized that my worth was never defined by the rejection of others but by the One who created me. Instead of seeking validation from broken places, I began healing from my past wounds. Through faith, self-discovery, and deep inner work, I started to rebuild my identity and understand that I was seen, loved, and chosen.
As I walked through my healing journey, I felt called to help others who had experienced similar pain. I poured my experiences into my book, He Sees You, to remind others that no matter how unseen or unworthy they feel, God sees them and has a purpose for their lives. My journey led me to become a trauma expert, speaker, and advocate for healing. I now empower women to break free from shame and step into their true identity.
Today, I lead Naked Truth Redeemed, a faith-based organization focused on helping people heal from past trauma and rejection. I speak at conferences, mentor women, and support single mothers on their journey of restoration. My goal is to remind people that their past does not define them—God does. Through my story, I want others to know that healing is possible, and they are seen, loved, and called to greater things.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Writing He Sees You was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done because it meant exposing parts of my life that I once wanted to hide. I had to relive painful moments—rejection, shame, toxic relationships—and put them on paper for the world to see. That kind of transparency is scary because you’re not just sharing a story; you’re allowing others into the most broken places of your life.
There were moments when I questioned whether I should release the book at all. I thought, What will people think? Will they judge me? Will my past define me forever? But I realized that fear of judgment was just another form of bondage, and if I was going to truly walk in freedom, I had to own my story. I had to believe that my pain had a purpose and that someone else needed to hear it.
The road to get here has not been easy. Writing about trauma brings up old wounds, and I had to continue my own healing process even as I was encouraging others to heal. There were also practical challenges—getting the book published, promoting it, and stepping into the public eye as an author and speaker. Vulnerability isn’t just about sharing—it’s about standing firm in your truth even when it’s uncomfortable.
But I’ve learned that transparency is powerful. When we hide our pain, it has control over us. When we expose it to the light, it loses its grip. The messages I’ve received from people who felt seen, understood, and encouraged because of my story make every hard moment worth it. That’s why I keep going—because I know that He Sees You isn’t just my story; it’s a story of so many others who are still searching for healing and freedom.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a pharmaceutical representative specializing in addiction treatment, I have the privilege of working closely with healthcare providers to offer Vivitrol, a medication designed to support individuals battling alcohol use disorder (AUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD). In my role, I educate physicians, treatment centers, and recovery programs about the benefits of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and how it can be a life-changing resource for those in recovery.
Having walked my own journey of healing, I bring a unique compassionate approach to my work in the pharmaceutical industry. I understand that addiction is often deeply tied to trauma, shame, and feelings of unworthiness—struggles I have personally faced. Because of this, I strive to connect with healthcare providers and patients on a deeper level, advocating not just for treatment but for true healing and restoration.
My work allows me to bridge the gap between medical treatment and emotional recovery, ensuring that those struggling with addiction receive the support, education, and encouragement they need to reclaim their lives. This professional mission aligns with my personal calling: to help people break free from cycles of pain and step into their God-given purpose.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Over the next five years, the pharmaceutical industry—especially in addiction treatment—will likely see expanded access to medication-assisted treatment (MAT), increased integration of mental health care, and advancements in long-acting therapies. With the ongoing opioid crisis and rising alcohol use disorder rates, there will be a stronger push for holistic, patient-centered approaches that combine medications like Vivitrol with counseling and support services.
Telemedicine and digital health tools will also play a greater role in addiction treatment, making care more accessible to underserved populations. Additionally, there may be policy changes and funding expansions to support harm reduction strategies and improve treatment affordability. As the industry evolves, my role will continue to focus on advocacy, education, and ensuring patients receive the comprehensive care they need for lasting recovery.
