Conversations with Armani Chin-Cooper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Armani Chin-Cooper

Hi Armani , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has always been a huge impact on my life. As an artistic and creative person, music is another way that describes who I am today. Hip-Hop and Rap is what is usually played on my playlist, but as of 2020, underground/rage artists and music has been on repeat ever since. Underground music was never popular or well known, so through my social media I repost certain songs to share to on my platform.

Rapping was never on the list to do until I played around with freestyles and beats off of YouTube. It was at first all for fun, but as my closest friends and family heard the songs I made, they told me that I have potential to take it all the way up with my music. I had a friend from college that is a rapper, and I would ask about how to get started with different equipment and softwares. With research on YouTube, I gain the confidence to take my music seriously and started playing around with flows and my voice to make a name for myself.

My inspiration when it comes to my music today has a lot to do with the image of artists like: Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, Playboi Carti, Lil Yatchy, etc. Living in Dallas, TX there is no one (that I know of) that is making rage/hip-hop rap hits.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been the smoothest, but I came to a realization that it will never be the easiest journey when I am teaching myself all the basics about music. I am someone who likes to come up with different ways to make my creation unique and authentic compared to well known artists today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Dallas bound rapper, born and raised in the West Dallas area. On my social media, I love to post content with my fashion styles and music. What makes me stand out from others, my fashion style is unique: mixture of luxury and non-lux brands. I wear a lot of Balenciaga, Chrome Heart, and Zara; although, these brands have nothing to do with how I want people to look at me. These brands have pieces that are not “trendy” or fast fashion that is well known on social media. I can proudly say that I do not have to copy and paste another person’s outfit in my closet because everything that I put together is all due to my creativity and eye.

When it comes to my music, I stand out to where each song is different! I can switch up my voices and jump on different types of beat; show casing versatility on my brand. I use platforms like TikTok and Youtube to drop music videos and short snippets of my latest songs.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
All of the content and music I drop, it all takes more time than most people think. It took me almost a little over a year to drop an album/mixtape. The mixtape itself took so much time because I wanted it to be mix perfect, album cover to look nice, and songs to be arranged in the best order for the audience.

I make all my music in my room at home.
