Hi Oking, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a young man, growing up in my native country, I love and have passion for fashion and style. I started helping my peers to choose and shop for them as a hubby, because they admired my unique sense of style and vision for dressing well. After I moved to the USA in 1982, I enjoyed shopping at unique men’s wear stores. My talent was recognized by clients and business owner of a upscale men’s store where i frequently shop in Downtown Dallas. The owner and I developed friendship and I started working as a salesman in 1985. Shortly, after that I realized that fashion is my passion and purpose. So in 1988 I stared my own retail business in Dallas TX and became the most go to stylist / clothier for men’s fashion for entertainmeners, sports, church leaders and all men allover USA who love to make statements with their clothes. I lunched a tailored custom Clothing store in uptown Dallas in 2004 before moving to present rooftop location in Richardson Tx, where we specialize in Bespoke Custom Tailored Apparel, Made2Measure suits and Tuxedos as well as expert alterations for both men & women.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No success is easy and you have to Focused and disciplined about your vision inspite of challenges that you encounter during your journey. We had difficulty from finance institutions/banks .Also the ability to relocate to better and upscale neighborhoods as a minority family owned business who started in the southern part known as Oak Cliff in Dallas.
But to God Be The Glory we survived that and so many ups and downs associated with economy in retail market.
