Check Out Reid Nitcher’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reid Nitcher

Hi Reid, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a IT professional working in low-code, data management and data visualization. My work from home journey started in 2022 and I casually started picking up things to upgrade technology but quickly found that curating my space and having a comfortable and inviting space made my work more enjoyable so I got super into these items – especially keyboards.

I also enjoy photography and have been shooting 35mm film for about 2 years! I have enjoyed taking pictures of family, friends, my travels, and the outdoors

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been fun, but expensive. My content and social media was slow to start and feels like once I had more gear I was able to really post about it more.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Systems Application Engineer for a Construction Company, and I work primarily in Power Platform and Azure. I build, deploy, manage tech solutions for the company including apps, dashboards, chatbots etc.

I have recently attended the PPCC (Power Platform Community Conference) the past two years and enjoy building more skills and connecting with others in the community.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Family and friend connections have been great to meet and grow. LinkedIn also got me my current role, so making full use of social tools. A piece off advice that is two-fold has been incredibly helpful to me professionally and personally: “never say no” and “never hurts to ask”. What this looks like for me, is never say no to opportunity to grow and learn something new even if it’s scary or unknown. You can learn from failure and being success in a new endeavor is a great confidence building. On the other side, asking questions to see what’s possible or get more information shows that you are inquisitive and seek more from your life. Whether it’s asking to travel to grow your skills, or not being afraid to keep asking questions when gathering information for you work. I always regret not asking the question more than asking too many.
