Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy & Heather Groff
Amy & Heather, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We are a mother-daughter team who have always had the dream of owning and operating a coffee shop. We wanted a place that would bring community together and create a sense of belonging. For years we bought decor, coffee mugs, and accessories that we thought one day we would use when we found the perfect location to open up shop. However, after Covid hit back in 2020 we thought our dreams were over as small businesses were being forced to close down left and right. After a lot of research and prayer, we took a leap of faith to start mobile! We converted an old paint/construction trailer into our own traveling coffee shop, and we finally opened in 2023. What started as only working events 1-2 days per month, has already grown into us having a regular location where we are open 2-3 days a week, while also booking special events such as weddings, festivals, employee appreciations, etc on weekends.
While we aren’t the “typical” coffee shop, our location still provides a place for neighbors to meet up, grab a drink, and fellowship with one another.
We have been completely blessed by the amount of support and encouragement we have received and we can genuinely say we LOVE our job!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For any small business it’s a huge challenge trying to make a name for yourself and create a following amongst all the established large franchises. You can have the best product but with a poor location or bad marketing you can not make it in today’s economy. For us, it was important that we found a way to stand out and offer unique menu items and ways for customers to customize their drinks. We believe in the quality of our products but it was initially difficult getting people to step out of their comfort zones and try something new!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are a fully functioning mobile coffee shop available for any occasion! We use a local coffee roaster, who is also a firefighter, and we take a great amount of pride in the quality of our drinks. We love customizing menus and working with different customers to meet their needs. We have served at weddings, graduation parties, grand openings for new businesses, neighborhood parties, and much more! Serving a variety of beverages, from lattes and hot chocolates to flavored lemonades and teas. We are constantly coming up with new flavors and menu items to best cater to our customers.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing peoples faces light up after they taste our drinks! We have served many customers who claim they “don’t like coffee”, but then come back over and over after they try one of ours. We absolutely love when customers help us create new flavors or drink combinations. To us, our drinks are our way of expressing creativity. It is our Art.
