Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Colgin
Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a fifth generation Catholic, Italian-American from Dallas, Texas. I attended 13 years of Catholic schools and then graduated from Texas Tech University with an English/Political Science major and a minor in English. Giving back to the community is a priority. Some of my favorite organizations to volunteer for are Catholic Charities, Faith Fitness Ministry, The Magdalen House, and Austin Street Center. Professionally, I have enjoyed a dynamic career in marketing and specialize in strategy, branding, sponsorship, and media.
With all the major sports teams, culture, restaurants, vibrant arts and live music scene, Dallas is home. But travel is one of my passions. I have visited 38 states, 39 countries and all 7 continents, I have been blessed to visit Spain during the world cup, cage dive with great white sharks, embark on a sunset camel ride across the Sahara Desert in Morocco, take the polar plunge in Antarctica, and seen the Northern Lights in Rogers, Arkansas.
The most impactful travel experiences have been faith-based. Pilgrimages I have taken to Israel, Italy, Bosnia, and Spain have been life-changing, Walking in the footsteps of Jesus, Mary and the saints deepened my faith and created unbreakable bonds with my fellow pilgrims. These experiences are extremely impactful and made me want to share these opportunities with others.
I recently accepted the position of US Director for Harvest Journey, a specialized travel company. This role combines my passions for faith and travel and allows me to use my expertise to help others have life -changing experiences that come from faith-based travel.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most of my career has been spent in marketing and media sales. There have been layoffs, and many organizational changes as accounts come and go. I have strong connections and have been able to work with some solid companies and incredible people over the years.

The challenge with Harvest is that there is an increasing demand for faith- based travel making this a crowded space. It’s important to be strategic with our marketing, sponsorships and partnerships so we can continue to gain market share as we grow the business. Travel is not essential so it is also somewhat dependent on the economy.

Harvest Journeys is a faith- based tour company family owned and operated for 38 years. We partner with the quality ground operators and guides who share a passion for faith and impart knowledge about holy and historical sites, local cuisine and customs. We offer a genuine pilgrimage experience and focus on memorable and impactful encounters along the way.
As the US Director, I am responsible for selecting spiritual guides for our journeys, crafting custom itineraries for our private groups, overseeing a team, marketing, and developing the business. I also write travel blogs covering our sacred destinations to help encourage others to explore these countries.
These types of travel experiences are transformative. It is my sincere hope that anyone interested will get to experience ancient, holy sites around the world with us.
