Exploring Life & Business with Brandon Rowell of Productions and Media/Photography company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Rowell.

Hi Brandon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From High School Dreams to BgreatProductions: The Journey of Creativity, Resilience, and Entrepreneurship

Every successful business has a story, and mine started as a simple desire to be different, to create something new, and to express my unique vision of the world. As a kid growing up in Atlanta, GA, I was always the artist in the family—the one who could spend hours painting, drawing, or designing something just for the joy of creating. Whether it was making a new piece of artwork or finding a creative solution to a problem, my life has always revolved around the drive to express myself and bring something to life that wasn’t there before.

As I grew older, this passion only intensified. When I was accepted into the magnet program at TriCities High in Atlanta, I was beyond excited. This was the place where the best and brightest artists, designers, and creatives thrived. I knew I was exactly where I needed to be, surrounded by others who shared the same hunger to create. But, as it often goes in life, things don’t always unfold the way we expect.

In the summer of my sophomore year, my family made the unexpected move to Texas. The change was devastating. I felt like I was losing everything—the friends, the experiences, the momentum I had built. I had spent years working hard to make my mark as an artist, and now, everything felt like it was slipping away. Still, life had other plans, and I found myself enrolling in The Colony High School, where I was lucky enough to join the Art Honors Club. Even though my path had changed, I was still able to keep my creative spark alive and surrounded myself with like-minded individuals who shared my passion for the arts.

Fast forward to college. I moved to East Texas to attend a JUCO school with the hope of walking on for baseball, while also studying Visual Communications. This was the moment that would change everything. It was in a Photography 101 class, under the guidance of my teacher Robert Langham, that I discovered a new world—one that I never expected to be so impactful. I had never been particularly fond of photography or being in front of the camera, but something about this class shifted my perspective. I began to realize that photography wasn’t just about taking pictures—it was about telling a story, capturing a moment, and expressing emotions in a visual way.

By the end of the semester, I had already taken some basketball game shots and college portraits, but it was around Christmas when my mom, Lenetra Heath, saw the spark in me. She recognized the potential and, without hesitation, gifted me a Canon Rebel T6. That was the moment I officially caught the photography bug. I started taking pictures of everyone and anyone—everyone became my muse, and my camera was my tool to bring my creative visions to life.

However, as life sometimes goes, personal matters led me to make the difficult decision to drop out of college and pursue online learning. Though I found myself working full-time in a warehouse, I knew deep down that this wasn’t the life for me. I had bigger dreams, and I wasn’t willing to let them slip away. I took matters into my own hands and invested in my future, purchasing a Sony A7iii—an upgrade that would help me take my craft to the next level.

But here’s where things got interesting: after getting the camera, I didn’t immediately dive into it. I put it down for the first five months. Yet, deep down, I knew I had to make a decision. I gave myself two choices: move to Dallas or go back home. Either way, I was going to make this photography thing work.

And that’s when the idea for BgreatProductions LLC was born.

With unwavering determination, I took the leap. Today, BgreatProductions is a thriving creative company that works with some of the biggest names in the industry—pro athletes, celebrities, high-end fashion, and even 5-star restaurants. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Director of Photography for commercials and movies, creating visual content that tells powerful stories and connects with audiences in meaningful ways.

Looking back, my journey has been filled with twists, turns, and moments of uncertainty, but each step has shaped who I am today and where BgreatProductions stands now. It all started with a simple idea: to create, to express, and to be different. And now, my mission is to continue doing just that, helping others share their stories through the lens of my camera.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned along the way, it’s that no matter where you start or the obstacles you face, if you remain true to your passion and keep pushing forward, your creative journey can take you farther than you ever imagined.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest struggle was being almost alone having to continue to motivate your self and continue to have faith as a young adult that hasn’t really experienced life with no knowledge of if it’s going to work or are you wasting time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At BgreatProductions, we specialize in telling compelling stories through creative visuals. While we have a diverse portfolio—from high-end fashion and 5-star restaurants to commercials and businesses—we’re particularly passionate about showcasing athletes at every level. Whether it’s a child’s first steps on the field or a professional’s game-winning moment, we capture the hard work, dedication, and grind that drive success. Our photos highlight not only athletic ability but also the commitment and behind-the-scenes efforts that often go unnoticed, opening doors to new opportunities for athletes.

Beyond sports, we also work with businesses, helping brands tell their unique stories. Whether you’re a startup or an established company, we focus on elevating your image, communicating your values, and connecting with your audience through powerful, creative visuals.

At BgreatProductions, we don’t just take photos—we craft stories that inspire, resonate, and create lasting impact.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My ability to really care and the fact that no matter how small or big a project was I wanted to make it look amazing and make my clients say ”Wow we haven’t got anything like that”
