Conversations with Amonjae Sealey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amonjae Sealey.

Amonjae, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started by trying to make my self more efficient. I’m an audio engineer/Artist now, but I did not start like this. Since I was about thirteen I’ve been going to the recording studio and making music for my self. It wasn’t until I was about 16 years old my my dad bought me a studio set up so I could start to record my self. Even then I still wouldn’t understand where I was actually needed and appreciated at. Two years later when I graduated highschool I realized that I loved doing music but I needed a way to support my self too. That’s when the idea of recording other people for a fee would come and change my day to day life. It was a process at first just like anything else , but slowly these last two years I’ve been able to support myself and my music from my own business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road thus far. I’ve gone through growing pains regarding how I handle business to learning how to handle different type of personality’s in a professional setting. Of course this is expected because this is my first business and with anything new you learn and adapt to what fits for you.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is music overall. I like to describe my self as a duel asset regarding the music space/indusrty. I’m a Artist/recording engineer meaning I’m a artist first & engineer second regarding my professional career.

How do you define success?
I define success as being able to support yourself and family off something you genuinely love to do everyday. Something that is positive for your community and helps others in more than one way.
