Check Out Erika Harrell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Harrell.

Hi Erika, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a writer passionate about helping women reclaim their confidence and remember their God-given worth through Jesus Christ. Grounded in academic excellence—with degrees in political science, a master’s in business, and ongoing life coach certification—my story embodies grace, growth, and purpose. I openly share how God has met me in my flaws and failures, believing that His light shines brightest in our broken places. Growing up amongst a strong and dynamic family who inspired me yet were often confined by invisible limits, I felt compelled to pursue a life without boundaries characterized by bold faith, integrity, and relentless purpose. Through my words and walk, I aim to point others to a Savior who empowers, redeems, and loves without condition. My mission is simple yet profound: to remind women they are never alone, always enough, and deeply cherished by a God whose grace transforms everything.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of my biggest challenges was being a first-generation college student, navigating uncharted territory, and learning many life lessons the hard way. I often felt like I had to clear the path not just for myself but so I could turn around and teach from a place of real experience. For years, I battled imposter syndrome—questioning whether my voice mattered, if my stories carried weight beyond my close circle, and if anyone out there would truly be moved to action by my words. I had powerful messages stored up for over a decade before I found the courage to step out and share them publicly. Long before Garden2Purpose was born, it started as Boss Lady’s—a small email thread with a faithful group of women who let me fill their inboxes with encouragement, challenges, and reflections straight from my heart. That humble beginning taught me that even the smallest seeds of faith can grow into something with real purpose when God is at the center.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is deeply rooted in my faith and a calling to empower all to walk boldly in their God-given identity. Through my blog, Garden2Purpose, I’ve created a space for victors—where we do the heart, healing, and spiritual work required to live out God’s purpose for our lives. It’s home to blog posts, affirmations, devotionals, and prayers designed to encourage, challenge, and uplift. I share moments of doubt, growth, grace, and victory from my journey, offering my words as a testament to God’s goodness through imperfection. In “The Harvest of Our Seed of Identity and Discovery,” I discuss how our identity in Christ takes root through surrender and intentional growth. In “EZ Like Sunday Morning,” I open up vulnerably about navigating adult friendships and the courage it takes to cultivate meaningful connections. Every piece is written with the hope that someone feels seen, strengthened, and reminded they are never too far gone to start blooming again.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Garden2Purpose is deeply connected to the mental health space because I believe true healing and purpose begin with the heart and mind. The statistics around mental health are alarming, and we often see its effects reflected in our bodies, relationships, and daily lives. Through honest conversations around faith, emotional wellness, and identity, G2P aims to highlight what often stays hidden. What’s been incredibly humbling is that this message has resonated far beyond borders—Garden2Purpose has welcomed readers from around the world, including countries like Canada, Algeria, India, Nigeria, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Mexico, Oman, the Republic of Korea, Ukraine, the Philippines, and Austria and more. It’s a beautiful reminder that the need for hope, healing, and purpose is truly universal.
