Today we’d like to introduce you to Dayway Official.
Hi Dayway, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first started my journey in college, didn’t really have no route or direction I wanted to go in, just figuring life out. I didn’t have my family, never knew my momma and got into a big altercation with my pops so I was out in the world alone trying to make something out of nothing.
I picked up a mic for the first time and been booked and busy ever since. I worked with some of the biggest artist and music moguls in the world, TY$, Rich The Kid, Quavo, Polo G, NLE Choppa, Madeintyo, Inasx, JustPeej, JayTheGreat Producer, Atlantic Records, Shawn Barron, Gary Leon Etc.
There was a period of time in 2022 where I had to fallback from music because I picked up 2 cases back to back, one misdemeanor & a felony so I had to take care of my priorities and step away from the scene.
As of 2025 I’m coming out with a big project, and got a lot of Californias favorite rap artist on the project and I’m ready to shake the streets up.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It never was always smooth road there’s always something that tries to stand in your way but it’s how you maneuver around it to success. Picking up the cases back to back was a lot because I had to pay for legal fees go to court dates and finish completing community service. So it took a lot of time away from my everyday life because I had to focus on making sure I had my freedom
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a recording artist, songwriter, entrepreneur, actor. I’m most known for my hit record “Bands” who Joe Moses & Compton AV did a remix too and my other song “Ghetto Angels”. I’m most proud of all the accomplishments I achieved but the best one was having my son. What sets me apart from others is that I’ll do the work no matter what it takes and don’t care if there’s an easy route or a hard one. I just need to make sure I get where I need to get to so my son never haves to ask me for anything and I can’t provide it!
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was a smart kid, bad because I felt school was slow and simple. I always had all As in school because of the way my granny raised me.
I was always outside with my friends from my neighborhood or at school or the park but where I was leaning into at a young age my father wanted something different. So he moved me out to the valley where I got recruited to play basketball
