Meet Michelle Hoang of Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Hoang.

Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years now. My now fiancé and I work as a photo and video team to capture moments that they want to remember forever. We both have had interest in cameras from a very young age. I personally had my cousins help me test my visions (anyone remember Brandon Woelfel? Hahah), make homemade movies (I was the iMovie MASTER), and over time, I came into my own style. I became skilled in my art. I’m so grateful my fiancé joined my side as my videographer and second shooter. We get to do what we love, together.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a relatively smooth road. Keeping photo & video as a side gig keeps us busy, but arguably too busy. We are very social people. Balancing social with our full time jobs with our side job AND combine planning a wedding? It’s been a lot! To take matters further, Cody and I had spent the last 2 years living in 2 cities. One month in Dallas, one month in Kansas City. Sounds fun in theory, but it pushed all of our clients to a constrained timeframe. We had to turn down weddings that had a concrete date. Before the move, we were top of mind for a Dallas photographer. I do believe the move lowered our demand and consistency.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Our favorites are working with couples. As a couple ourselves, we love meeting new likeminded couples in the area. We are also in our wedding era, so it’s easy to relate and provide insight on their journey.

As for our work, we strive to provide variety. We won’t cheap you out – you’ll get more than 10 photos in your session, and it won’t be 10 of the same photo either. We pose you entirely in a way that makes you feel special, beautiful, and unlike what you’re able to take on your own.

Your big moments deserve to be captured. Your big moments deserve to be remembered. And we’re proud to help shine past your expectations.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Quality. I won’t provide you blurry photos (except for the fact that people like those these days…?!). I will make sure you look beautiful. I will match your inspiration boards exactly. We will work together to create the vision, and we will give the vision life.
