Check Out Liselle’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liselle.

Hi Liselle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
NYC-born, globally inspired, I’m a traveling influencer sharing stories from my adventures abroad and the beauty I find along the way. From colorful streets in Porto, Spain to serene coastlines in Greece, my journey is rooted in culture, creativity, and connection. By day, I work with children with autism—an experience that inspires my passion for empathy and growth. Through my plant business, @brooklynplantclub, I host community events and workshops that bring people together to learn about plant care, connect with nature, and grow something beautiful.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road juggling a 9-5, building a business, and growing as a content creator. I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome and often felt like I didn’t belong in certain spaces or wasn’t “good enough” to take up room. I’ve struggled with depression for many years and had to find ways to pull myself out of black holes. Over time, I’ve learned to trust my voice, my vision, and the value of my experiences. It’s been a journey of growth—personally and professionally—and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Black queer special educator by day and a creative entrepreneur with a deep love for plants at heart. My work is rooted in care—whether I’m supporting children with autism in the classroom, sharing my travels as a content creator, or building community through @brooklynplantclub, where I host events and workshops centered around plant care and connection.

I specialize in creating safe, inclusive spaces—both in education and through my creative work. I’m most proud of going back to school to earn my master’s degree while navigating multiple roles. It wasn’t easy, but it showed me just how capable I am.

I bring lived experience, heart, and authenticity to everything I do. Whether I’m in a classroom, on a flight, or leading a plant workshop, I carry a mission of growth, finding joy in simple things, and helping others reconnect with with themselves and the world around them.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
One quality that’s been most important to my success is resilience. Balancing a full-time career in special education, growing a creative platform, and launching a plant-focused business hasn’t been easy—but my ability to keep showing up, even when things felt overwhelming or uncertain, has made all the difference. Resilience has allowed me to push through imposter syndrome, stay rooted in my purpose, and continue evolving despite setbacks. It’s helped me embrace growth, stay grounded in my values, and keep creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired.
