Today we’d like to introduce you to Brycen Alleyne.
Hi Brycen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from Wilmington, Delaware born and raised. Graduated from Delaware State University in 2019 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science. Since I was young I’ve been involved with sports and sports performance. All state and all conference in Football in High school, All Conference Runningback/Returner at Delaware State University where I finished #3 All time in school history. Post College while trying to figure out my professional football career I began to lean more into my love for developing young athletes on the field and in the weight room, passing along information and keys to help them be successful on and off the field. I be came a Head Performance Coach at a facility called Alpha Training in Newark, DE as well as an assistant coach for a local high school. From 2019-2023, I began to take advantage of my professional football opportunities playing in Indoor leagues from Arizona to Iowa. Where ultimately I was released prior to the seasons beginning year after year and then coming home getting right back to developing the youth athletes in my area and being a Coordinator for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Delaware Athlete Mentorship Program. In 2022, I bet on myself again which ultimately sky rocketed my stock in the professional football world. I signed a contract to play in the Indoor Football league for the Sioux City Bandits in Iowa. Prior to reporting to camp I flew to Atlanta for a tryout for the Fan Controlled Football League (another indoor league that was gaining some traction and really giving players some good exposure, names like Terelle Owens, Johnny Manziel, Kavontae Turpin, and Terrence Williams all played in the league as well) I was offered a contract to the Fan Controlled league following reporting to Iowa. I left immediately and headed to Atlanta where later I was nominated for Player of the Year, several Player of the week awards, & setting the rushing record in the league. That opportunity allowed me to be drafted in the Inaugural season of the XFL in 2022 by the Houston Roughnecks where we were all based in Dallas,TX. 2023 Season was nothing short of great for me where I gained a lot of NFL interests after making ESPN Top 10 for plays of the week. in 2024, the league was absorbed and combined with the USFL (another professional spring league) and later called the UFL (United Football League). With the Merger of the two leagues brought the dismantlement of the XFL Houston Roughnecks and I ended up being the only Runningback on the Houston Roughnecks roster to be brought into the merger with the San Antonion Brahmas. I was headed back to Dallas for season 2. 2024 came and things did not pan out the way I expected them with a lot of political moves being made behind close doors which ultimately lead to me being released after making the decision to make Dallas home. I had to start from scratch with finding somewhere to train, increasing my training content, and finding somewhere to help develop athletes in the DFW area. 6 months later I became the Head Coach at D1 Training in Frisco,TX and a trainer at Athletic Zone here in Dallas, TX. Im continuing to make content and show determination and passion with my personal training as well as with my clients from Dallas to Frisco of all ages and athletic levels from youth to professional athletes. I am continuing to make connections and network with like minded individuals such as Craig Leblanc, founder of 2live here in Dallas, TX.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A long the way I had to deal with coaches not believing in me, being overlooked, and starting from scratch to create a name for myself when i was at my highest having to be humbled and take a step back to dig into my greatest gift which was giving back to athletes what my mentors gave to me. Not making enough money doing what I love to do and still having the passion to get up and do it again and again every day from before the sun comes up to the time the sun goes down.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Sports Performance Specialist. I specialize in football but I also train all sports, ages, and experience ! I am mostly known for my speed and agility training when it comes to sports performance. I also specialize in strength training but most people know me via social media for my speed and agility drills/training. I am most proud of the fact that I can take drills that truly translate to in game situation to get the athlete prepared for such circumstances. I also believe that what sets me apart from the rest is the fact that I can perform the same drills, I back my drills up by real life examples and Im not just having people do drills or exercises just because. I truly work off of experience and research to help my athletes improve strength and on field abilities.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I really do not have a specific moment that I would consider as my favorite but a point in time where training and doing what I loved because it was my passion was roughly around high school time. That was the time where everything clicked for me and ramped up my love for sports performance and development. The amount of mentors I have had during my childhood that really poured into me and helped me be the man that I am today always reminds me of why i do what I do now.
