Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendall Dungan.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The story of Kendall’s Kookies started long before I ever baked my first batch. Growing up, I went to school with this guy, and everyone always raved about how his mom made the best chocolate chip cookies. That stuck with me—I remember thinking, I want to be that mom one day, the one known for the best cookies.
Fast forward to my junior year of college, I finally had my own place and decided to try baking cookies. It was never consistent—I’d pick it up, put it down—but when I did bake, I got really into it. I’d do research between set at the gym, diving into how to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie.
The last time I made cookies was in April 2020 during lockdown, then it wasn’t until Halloween 2024 that I picked it back up. I brought some cookies to a party and thought, Wait, I forgot I actually make pretty good cookies… but I think I can do better. I got back into research, experimenting with new ideas, and in January 2025, I finally put it all together.
I posted a story of my cookies on Instagram, and the response was overwhelming. One of my best friends told me I had to make them for him. He came over, took one bite, and literally laughed because he didn’t believe I had made them—he thought they were that good. He said, “Kendall, you could sell these.” I thought he was crazy—until I brought some to work the next day and within 15 minutes, they were gone. A coworker came up to me and said, “I will pay you to make these for me.”
A couple weeks later, I brought 3.5 dozen cookies to a Super Bowl party, and people couldn’t stop talking about them. Everyone kept saying they were the best cookies they’d ever had—and told me I HAD to start selling these.
At that time, I was in a weird place in life. I had a finance degree from the University of Oklahoma, and I’d worked at Fidelity Investments for five years, ever since I was little I thought I wanted to be a financial consultant. But over time, I realized that wasn’t making me happy anymore. For the first time in my life, I didn’t know what was next.
On the drive home from that Super Bowl party, I thought, What if I called it Kendall’s Kookies? I had a name, a product, a background in business, and an incredible network of people I trusted. So the next morning on February 10, 2025, I woke up and decided: today I’m starting a cookie company.
It’s been a whirlwind ever since. This journey has been the most exciting chapter of my life—full of learning, growth, and gratitude. I work around the clock, seven days a week. From content creation and marketing, to baking, sales, delivering, and networking—I’m fully in it. I want to build Kendall’s Kookies into a family legacy. One day, I hope it’s big enough that I can give back—supporting charities or foundations that help people who’ve walked through some of the same struggles I’ve faced.
This is just the beginning, and I’m all in.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, it’s been a lot smoother than I ever could have imagined—and that’s what makes me believe, more and more every day, that I’m on the exact path I’m supposed to be on. It feels like things are aligning in ways that I couldn’t plan if I tried. People I’ve known throughout my life are reaching out to support me. I keep meeting people who want to help, and word about Kendall’s Kookies is spreading so quickly through friends, community, and social media. It’s been surreal.
That said, the biggest challenge so far has definitely been the lifestyle shift. Before starting Kendall’s Kookies, I had never worked this much in my life. The long hours, the physical demands, and the mental energy it takes to run every part of the business—it’s been a huge adjustment. I’ve had to be more intentional with my time, develop new routines, and prioritize rest and recovery when I can.
While I still make time for fun and friendships, my schedule looks a lot different now. I’ve had to become more disciplined and forward-thinking, because I’m building something I truly care about—and that takes showing up every single day, no matter what.
So while the journey has felt incredibly aligned and exciting, it has also required real sacrifice, discipline, and a whole new level of commitment. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything—because every challenge I’ve faced so far just confirms that I’m building something that truly matters to me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder and owner of Kendall’s Kookies, a cookie company built on passion, purpose, and a whole lot of love (and butter). I specialize in making thick, crisp but also chewy, unforgettable chocolate chip cookies that people can’t stop talking about. What started as a goal to be the mom one day with the best cookies, has evolved into something much bigger—a brand that’s all about warmth, community, and connection.
At Kendall’s Kookies, it’s about more than just the cookies. What sets us apart is the heart behind the hustle. I’ve poured everything into this business—my energy, my creativity, and my time. I’m driven, focused, and genuinely excited about what I’m building every single day. I care deeply about people, and I’ve always found joy in building relationships, whether that’s with a new customer, a fellow small business owner, or someone who just reaches out to say they love the cookies.
I’m proud of the brand I’m curating—one that reflects who I am at my core: social, driven, compassionate, and community-minded. I want Kendall’s Kookies to be a name people recognize not just for great cookies, but for genuine connection and heart. And as the business grows, one of my biggest goals is to give back—whether that’s through charitable work, partnerships, or starting something of my own to support others.
This is more than just a cookie company. It’s a dream in motion—and I’m giving it everything I’ve got.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think luck has played a really interesting role in my life. I’ve definitely experienced both ends of the spectrum—I’ve had moments where I’ve felt incredibly lucky and blessed, and others where it felt like nothing was going my way. I’ve walked through a lot of personal trials and challenges in my 27 years on earth, but I truly believe those difficult seasons helped shape me into the person I am today. They made me stronger, more grounded, and more prepared to take on something as big as starting my own business.
I’ve worked hard on myself—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—and that inner work is what gave me the strength and clarity to build Kendall’s Kookies with intention and resilience. Even during the hard times, I’ve always tried to keep looking for the good. Even if it felt like there was one rain cloud following me around, I held onto hope and trusted that everything would work out the way it was meant to.
Now, I feel incredibly lucky to be in a season where things are aligning, doors are opening, and opportunities are showing up in ways I never expected. But at the same time, I know that a lot of what might look like luck from the outside has really come from hustle, consistency, and heart. I’ve been showing up every single day and putting in the work—and that’s made all the difference.
