Today we’d like to introduce you to PRETTY/ Keelyn Dunklin.
Hi PRETTY/ Keelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a kid I’ve always had a passion for art & the creative side of things ! When it was time for art class at school , I was literally in heaven. Fast forward a few years later, and I started to pick up the knack for helping my older cousins get ready and dolled up for their outings on the weekends , which turned into a at home salon lol. Eventually , after pulling together my family’ & friends glam every weekend it was clear I found what I love to do.
Skip to a few more years later , with getting more educated on the skills I need & consistently staying in my makeup kit I got the confidence to finally stay this is it & what I want to do …let’s go for it ! It was like my fairy godmother heard me , within that week I had a salon owner hitting me up, asking me if I would like to work at the salon that was located in Tyler, Texas and I also gained employment at Onyx & PT’s adult club in Dallas doing the glam for the girls that worked. There was a wonderful makeup guru that worked in the back of Onyx & had been for years that took me under his wing & showed me a lot of tips & tricks of the trade ! ( sometimes I still used to this day! )
Even though the girls were a vibe to work with, I started slowing down a little and taking more personal clients. And said my goodbyes to the salon I worked at in Tyler and moved to Dallas full-time and put on my adult pants.
Whenever I got to Dallas, I joined a Glam squad that is based in Dallas, Texas that handles weddings and proms and personal make up appointments. They had ended up reaching out to me through social media and I’m still with them to this day and also taking my own clients as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a little bit of both, honestly, having to make a name for myself in Tyler as a make up artist out of nowhere and build it from the ground up, was challenging, but managed to build a good name for myself. Also, you always have those few people that just can’t rooting for you , no matter what you do , but that just comes with the territory. Also just having to continuously pat myself on the back and keep myself motivated because it’s my dream and my goals. .

I specialize in Makeup , basically all types of makeup brawn makeup wedding makeup every day make up Halloween make up and some special effects.
Also , the brows are my JAM. I live for a sickening eyebrow ! Not too much but just enough, clean, crisp and perfectly arched
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
my favorite childhood memory is honestly sitting in the bathroom with my mom every night, watching her, take her make off off and brush her teeth, and I would sit behind her while she would put on her night creams and lotion, and we will talk about the day and whatever crazy ideas or questions I had that day.
