Community Highlights: Meet Brittney Samford of Gathered Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Samford.

Hi Brittney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my business in 2018 after planning my own wedding and quickly fell in love with the process. While working a full-time corporate job, I planned 32 weddings in my first year—just diving in and learning as I went. After that, I went full-time and focused on scaling the business with more intention and less volume.

When COVID hit in 2020, we used that time to completely revamp our team, processes, and offerings. That season was a major turning point—we started attracting luxury clients and aligning the brand with my long-term vision. Since then, we’ve grown our team, expanded into destination weddings, and now take on a limited number of high-end events while our associate team serves couples with different needs. It’s been such a rewarding journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. In the beginning, I was juggling a full-time job while planning weddings on nights and weekends, which was incredibly demanding. One of the biggest challenges came in 2020 when the pandemic forced us to pause and navigate so much uncertainty. But that time also allowed us to reset, rebuild, and align the business with a more intentional vision.

I’ve also had to learn how to set boundaries and protect my time—something that’s crucial in a creative, service-based business. The challenges have definitely shaped the growth and strength of our brand.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Gathered Events is a luxury wedding planning and design company that specializes in creating one-of-a-kind celebrations for couples who value intentionality, creativity, and a seamless experience. We’re known for designing weddings that feel elevated, imaginative, and deeply personal—not just beautiful events, but unforgettable experiences for everyone involved.

Our principal team focuses on high-production weddings with layered, thoughtful design and complex logistics. I lead the design and creative direction, while my business partner, Alexis, manages the planning side. It’s a true partnership that allows each of us to focus on what we’re most passionate about—and that energy is felt in every event we create. We love pushing creative boundaries while staying grounded in what matters most to our clients.

We also have an associate team that takes on weddings with smaller-scale production needs. These planners are incredible and work with couples who may want to be more hands-on in the process or have a more modest event size or budget. No matter the scale, every couple we work with receives care, professionalism, and a tailored approach.

What sets us apart is how deeply we invest in both our clients’ experience and the creative vision. We don’t believe in rinse-and-repeat weddings. Each event is uniquely crafted with heart, intention, and artistry. Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we’ve built something that feels both elevated and approachable—luxurious, but never out of touch. We’ve grown steadily and intentionally, staying true to who we are and the kind of work we want to do.

At the end of the day, we’re here to make our clients feel celebrated and supported, and to bring their story to life in a way that’s both meaningful and truly unforgettable.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was extremely extroverted, I could make friends with just about anyone. I was always very driven and competitive in the best way; if I set my mind to something, I wasn’t going to stop until I succeeded. I spent most of my time dancing and cheering, which taught me so much about discipline, performance, and working as part of a team.

Fashion was my first love, and I’ve always been drawn to aesthetics and creative expression. I went to TCU (go Frogs!) and graduated with a degree in fashion, which still plays a huge role in how I approach wedding design today. I’ve always had an eye for detail and a love for creating beautiful things, so it’s fun to see how those early passions have come full circle.
