Meet Jana Wollam of North Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jana Wollam.

Hi Jana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from June Shelton School, which is where my foundation in organization really began. I went on to earn my degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas and spent nearly 15 years building a career in Quality Assurance and Compliance within the corporate world.

All the while, organizing was my passion project. In my free time, I helped family, friends, teachers, and colleagues create order in their spaces—everything from home offices and classrooms to closets, pantries, and garages. I’m incredibly grateful to Shelton School for instilling the core skills that sparked my love for organization. From there, I continued learning through experience, trial and error, reading, and picking up tips from others in the field.

After more than 20 years of hands-on experience and with the steady encouragement of my husband, family, friends, and mentors, I finally took the leap and turned my side passion into a full-time business. Today, I’m proud to help others experience the calm and clarity that comes from a well-organized, functional home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—it’s been anything but smooth, and honestly, I think that’s part of what makes the journey so meaningful. When I started my professional organizing business, I knew I was passionate about helping people create calm, functional spaces. What I didn’t fully anticipate were all the hats I’d need to wear—marketer, bookkeeper, tech support, you name it. I had to learn how to run a business while building one, which meant a lot of late nights, trial and error, and moments of doubt.

One of the biggest struggles was helping people understand the value of organizing as a service—not just something “nice to have,” but something that genuinely improves quality of life. That meant educating my clients while building trust, especially since I don’t sell products or containers. My focus is on sustainable systems, and getting people to see organizing as a lifestyle shift—not a quick fix—took time.

There were definitely tough seasons, especially in the beginning. But each challenge taught me something new—about resilience, creativity, and the importance of staying true to my purpose. Looking back, the bumps in the road are where I grew the most.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Professional Organizer and the owner of OrgaNICE by JW, LLC. I specialize in creating organized, functional spaces that align with each client’s personal routines and lifestyle. My passion lies in helping people live more fully by ensuring their homes support—not hinder—their daily lives.

What sets my work apart is the personalized, respectful approach I bring to every project. I guide clients of all ages through the organizing process, focusing on their individual goals and comfort levels. I’m especially known for full-home decluttering and reorganizing spaces in a way that simply makes sense for everyday use. My philosophy is rooted in empathy—if someone isn’t ready to let go of certain items, that’s okay. I truly understand sentimental value and always aim to honor those meaningful belongings.

Rather than pushing clients toward minimalism, I work closely with them to identify what they use daily so we can make those items more accessible and useful. Nothing leaves the home unless they feel ready—and when that time comes, I’m there to support them every step of the way.

I’m proud to offer thoughtful extras like donation and trash removal, personalized Amazon wishlists for organizing supplies, unpacking after travel, and custom daily routine guides. My core services also include decluttering, new-home unpacking, sorting, containing, document management, and—of course—organizing. It’s more than just tidying up; it’s about creating systems that bring peace, clarity, and confidence back into the home.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is packing the car with my dad for our family road trips. I always saw it as a real-life game of Tetris—figuring out how to fit everything just right so he could still see out the back window. I loved the challenge and the satisfaction of getting it to all fit perfectly.

Another favorite memory is tidying my messy room with my best friend. I wasn’t allowed to go to her house—just two blocks away—until my room was clean, so she’d come over to help. We’d end up turning it into a game, laughing and playing as we organized. Looking back, those moments really shaped the way I see organizing today—not as a chore, but as something that can be creative, collaborative, and even fun.
