Life & Work with Danielle Hodges of Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Hodges.

Danielle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Houston, raised by a single mom who gave everything she had to make sure my brother and I felt supported. She worked long hours and made countless sacrifices—and watching her taught me resilience, drive, and the importance of building a life you’re proud of.

I was the first in my family to graduate from college, earning a degree in accounting. After school, I moved to Dallas chasing stability and success—but somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t chasing my version of it. I spent four years in corporate accounting, and even though the path looked right on paper, I felt stuck. I had what I call a quarter-life crisis. I knew something had to change.

During that time, I found yoga. Or maybe it found me. It helped me reconnect with myself in a season when I was feeling lost. I got certified to teach, and not long after, I took a leap: I quit my job, ended a relationship, and walked away from the safety net I had worked so hard to build. It was terrifying—and it changed everything.

That leap led me to new home sales. And from the moment I stepped into this industry, something clicked.

Helping people find a place to call home has healed parts of me I didn’t even know needed healing. Growing up, I didn’t always have that sense of stability or space to just be. It’s so hard to believe that I went to four middle schools and four highschools! So now, being able to guide families through one of the biggest decisions of their lives—helping them create a space to feel safe, dream big, and start fresh—is incredibly meaningful.

I’ve been with K. Hovnanian Homes for seven years now, and it’s wild how fast the time has flown. Every family I meet reminds me why I love what I do. It’s not just about the act of selling homes for me—it’s about helping people feel at home, in every sense of the word.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that some of the scariest decisions end up being the most life-changing. Sometimes you have to walk away from the version of life you thought you were supposed to live… to finally step into the one you were meant for.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. There’ve been plenty of twists and turns. The early years pushed me to find my voice, build confidence, and keep refining how I communicate—not just to sell, but to connect deeply with others. I’ve faced so many challenges: COVID, supply chain delays, unpredictable rates, and tough communities. Through it, I’ve had to stay curious, stay grounded, and keep growing. The biggest win? Learning to fully embrace my authentic self in the process.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a new home sales consultant for K. Hovnanian Homes, I walk with people through the entire home buying process—from their first visit to move-in day. Of course, I know the product, the features, and all the details inside and out—but more than anything, I want people to know that owning their dream home is possible. I am currently making dreams come true in the North Fort Worth/Haslet area. Wellington estates is the gorgeous community I’m in!

People ask me all the time; why buy K Hovnanian? The why aligns with my personal beliefs so the answer always comes easy. K. Hovnanian was started with the belief that every buyer has the right to a well-built, beautiful home, and three generations later that is still the heart of what we do. We build homes for every family, at every stage, in every season of their life – our product reflects that.

I’m most proud of the families who’ve trusted me with such a big moment in their lives, and the relationships I’ve built with realtors. What sets me apart is how I show up—I lead with empathy, I listen with intention, and I always try to make the experience impactful.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’m excited for the future of the home building industry! With the introduction and widespread use of AI, it will be so fascinating to see who will embrace the changes and gain market share by being innovative. From technology advancements to design trends, there’s a lot of great advances on the horizon. With respect to the current market conditions, real estate is cyclical and I’m excited to be along for the ride!
