Today we’d like to introduce you to KaantiSuresh Shetty.
Hi KaantiSuresh, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Some stories are written with ink. Mine was carved with courage, faith, and a relentless belief in possibilities; even when the world didn’t hand them over easily.
I was born and raised in India, where dreams often bowed to tradition, and women were expected to walk in the shadows of others’ ambitions. But I’ve always been drawn to light; to progress, purpose, and the desire to build something larger than myself. My professional journey began humbly, in the heart of Bangalore, where I worked for a leather manufacturing company managing exports for brands like Kenneth Cole as a Cost Accountant. It was here I learned discipline, precision, and how global excellence could begin with local grit.
In 1995, I moved to Dubai, then an emerging hub where the desert sand was turning into gold. It was a bold leap into the unknown. I had no safety net, only the hunger to prove that a young woman from South India could navigate boardrooms filled with seasoned men from across the globe. That’s where I built my foundation.
I rose quickly, not because I was the loudest in the room, but because I delivered results. As General Manager of Business Development for a major retail conglomerate, I led the entry and expansion of over 80 global international brands—including Tommy Hilfiger, Nine West, Aldo, and Aeropostale to name a few, I still remember the electric night I was a part of the well curated fashion show where Tommy Hilfiger himself graced the runway. That moment wasn’t just about fashion, it was about faith in myself, my vision, and my ability to lead at the highest level.
But I didn’t stop at business development. I was instrumental in starting the Quality & Excellence Department, establishing benchmarks for customer experience, operational excellence, and strategic leadership. I was a part of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. I was appointed a Senior Assessor under the Dubai Economic Development Authority, evaluating businesses for the prestigious Dubai Quality Awards led by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was one of the greatest honors of my life, to serve a nation by raising the standard of excellence for its industries.
After two transformative decades in Dubai, I moved to the U.S. in 2017; another act of reinvention. Many questioned why I would leave behind a life of stability and recognition to start over. My answer was simple: purpose. I wanted to use everything I had learned to create something that would bridge nations, uplift entrepreneurs, and empower communities.
Today, I am the Founder and CEO of IndUS Synergy Partners, a Dallas-based cross-border advisory firm that simplifies legal, investment, and business strategies between the U.S. and India. Together with my brother, Gaanesh Daalvi, a senior legal advocate in India, we guide startups, investors, and diaspora families through real estate, succession, and corporate challenges across two continents. We’re not just solving problems, we’re building legacies.
I also lead Sai Business Investments and Sai Thaniya Krupa LLC, where I develop real estate projects that don’t just generate returns, they generate jobs and revive neighborhoods. Our businesses have been honored with the MAVS 100 Award by the University of Texas at Arlington for three consecutive years, and twice named finalists for the Rising Star of the Year.
Yet, the title I hold closest to my heart is not CEO. It’s servant leader.
As Director of Community and Partnerships at JB Dondolo Inc., a U.S.-based nonprofit, I’ve helped raise thousands of dollars to build schools, provide clean water, and fund educational programs in underprivileged African villages. Instead of celebrating my graduation, I donated my celebration funds to build classrooms in Zimbabwe. I don’t give because I have plenty, I give because I know what it feels like to rise with none.
Through my journey, I’ve embraced being a woman in leadership not as a challenge, but as a calling. I mentor young women who are afraid to use their voice. I sit on advisory councils that shape community policy. And I engage with chambers of commerce, elected officials, and institutions to ensure women and minorities are represented- not as tokens, but as trailblazers.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that leadership is not about power, it’s about people. It’s about lifting others while you climb, building bridges when others build walls, and never forgetting where you came from, no matter how far you’ve come.
So how did I get to where I am today?
By choosing courage over comfort.
By turning every ‘NO’ into a new direction.
And by believing that with faith, strategy, and heart; we can rewrite what’s possible.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth? Not quite. In fact, my journey has felt more like an unpaved trail-scenic, yes, but filled with sharp turns, unexpected potholes, and moments where I had to pull over and remind myself why I started in the first place.
I still remember landing in Dubai in the mid-90s with a suitcase full of dreams and very little else. I was young, ambitious, and determined to make a mark. But Dubai wasn’t waiting for me with open arms. It was fast, competitive, and dominated by boardrooms filled with seasoned men who didn’t quite know what to make of a woman who asked questions, spoke her mind, and dared to lead.
There were days I sat outside meeting rooms rehearsing my pitch not once, but twenty times, just so I wouldn’t stumble when it was finally my turn to speak. I had to work twice as hard for half the recognition, and I often found myself proving my credibility before even beginning a conversation. But I made a silent promise to myself: If they didn’t give me a seat at the table, I’d build my own.
And I did.
But building comes with breaking and breaking of comfort, breaking of confidence at times. There were deals that fell through at the eleventh hour, nights I cried silently after putting my son to bed, and mornings when I had to wear confidence like armor even when I was breaking inside.
When I moved to the U.S. in 2017, I went from being a well-known leader in Dubai to being an unfamiliar name in DFW area.. Starting from scratch in your forties, in a new country, with no roadmad and that’s not just difficult, that’s humbling. I had to rebuild my network, learn new systems, navigate immigration policies, and face the quiet fear that maybe and just maybe, I had peaked in a different chapter of my life.
But every setback gave me muscle. Every no turned into a new direction. When doors didn’t open, I built new ones. And with each struggle came a lesson, not just in business, but in grace.
There were also personal trials. Watching my family go through health challenges while I tried to keep my businesses afloat. Being a daughter who couldn’t be there for every phone call. A mother who sometimes missed bedtime stories. And a wife trying to hold it all together. It’s not easy being everything to everyone. But I learned to give myself grace, too.
The truth is, I’ve stumbled many times. But I’ve never stayed down. Because every woman watching me, my sisters, my mentees, my team, even my younger self that deserves to know that strength isn’t about never falling. It’s about rising so often that falling stops feeling like failure.
So no, the road hasn’t been smooth. But it’s been mine, every raw, real, remarkable stretch of it. And today, when I mentor young women, lead social impact work, or speak on business panels, I carry those stories with me. Not as baggage, but as proof that you can fall and still rise. That you can lead with empathy and still command a room. That you can be soft, strong, and unstoppable, all at once.
“I wasn’t born to follow the path. I was born to clear it, to light it for others, and to walk it with purpose, even when the road disappears beneath my feet.”

Community, Education & Advocacy
Beyond business, I proudly serve as a Ambassador to the Real Estate Students Society of Real Estate for University of Texas at Arlington, College of Business, where I once chaired the UTA Student Real Estate Club. I continue to guide students and future leaders by connecting academia with real-world entrepreneurial challenges.
I am also the Director of Community and Partnerships at JB Dondolo Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to clean water, education, and equality for underserved communities. Instead of celebrating my graduation, I donated those funds to build classrooms in Zimbabwe, because business should be a platform for impact, not just profit.
Additionally, I’m proud to serve as a community partner with the Dallas Wings WNBA team, using that platform to advocate for women’s empowerment in sports, business, and leadership. These partnerships reflect who we are at our core: a company that builds globally and serves locally.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I am most proud of building a brand that doesn’t just chase metrics, but delivers meaning. Whether we’re resolving land disputes for a family in India, helping a U.S. developer secure entitlements, or guiding a startup through legal formalities, we offer more than services—we offer solutions that matter.
And we do it all with purpose, precision, and pride.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I come from a business family where the conversations around our dinner table were about clients, margins, supply chains, and growth. I was born into legacy, discipline, and vision. For a while, it felt like life had given me a head start.
But that illusion shattered when I was just six. My father, my hero and our family’s guiding light passed away in a tragic accident. His absence shook the very foundation of our home and our business. From a life of structure and security, we were suddenly thrust into uncertainty. The family business started declining, and so did everything familiar.
I watched my mother grieving, untrained, but unbreakable, step into the business world overnight. She didn’t come with an MBA. She came with intuition, grace, and fire. Her resilience became my blueprint. Her courage was my classroom.
Those early years taught me that leadership isn’t about control, it’s about service. It’s about staying rooted in chaos, staying kind in conflict, and staying committed in crisis.
As I grew, I pursued formal education in finance, marketing, and real estate investments. I earned my MBA, became a cost accountant, and eventually moved to Dubai, and graduated with Masters in Real Estate from University of Texas Arlington, College of Business. I was engaged and involved in international brand development, bringing iconic global names like Tommy Hilfiger, Kenneth Cole, Aeropostale and Nine West into new markets across 17 countries.
But after nearly two decades abroad, I returned to the U.S. with a deeper purpose.
Today, I am the Founder and President of IndUS Synergy Partners, a company that facilitates cross-border business growth, legal advisory, real estate development, and strategic consulting. We guide clients from the U.S., India, and Internationally from startup to scale-up with a strong focus on compliance, structure, and sustainability. I also serve as CEO of Sai Business Investments, and proudly serve as Director of Community & Partnerships at JB Dondolo, Inc., a nonprofit focused on water, education, and equity.
My journey has been recognized in many meaningful ways—
– Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Silver Medal) for humanitarian work with underserved communities in Africa and India
– MAVS 100 Business Award from The University of Texas at Arlington, for high-growth companies led by alumni
– Twice nominated as Rising Star of the Year by the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce
– And invited as a speaker and advisor on panels for women in business, immigrant entrepreneurship, and global economic development.
But the real rewards are never the plaques. They’re the people. The girl who messages me saying she started a business because she heard my story. The mother who went back to college after attending one of my talks. The small business owner who now exports globally because we gave them a roadmap.
To every young person, especially to women and immigrants navigating uncharted paths; I want to say: You were never meant to fit in. You were born to stand out.
Your pain is not your weakness—it’s your power. Your story doesn’t have to begin in perfection to end in greatness.
I was born into business; but I was reborn in fire. And I’ve made it my mission to light the way for others.”
