Exploring Life & Business with Amy Caillouet of Eat, Play, Love OT

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Caillouet.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am fortunate for this to have been a pretty smooth road along the way. The hardest part was taking a leap of faith out of the clinic and hoping to grow a caseload quickly in order to supplement my work hours. I knew if I didn’t leave the clinical setting, I would never be able to expand my own practice. I have been able to grow my practice over the years via word of mouth, without social media marketing, which I am so grateful for! The families that I serve become like family.

As you know, we’re big fans of Eat, Play, Love OT. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in pediatric occupational therapy in an outpatient setting. I’m currently private pay only, I do not accept insurance, however, with that being said, I can set my therapy parameters and be as creative as I want with treatment sessions, as well as qualify kids through standardized testing that may not meet insurance qualifications otherwise. I have 22 years of pediatric experience not only in United States, but through medical mission trips as well. It has really taught me to think outside the box! There’s always more than one way to go about meeting a goal, and that should be individualized to that child!

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Jasmine Mathew with “Jasmine’s Beat” has always been an inspiration! Her dance classes for neurodivergent children are amazing and so great at building morale and confidence. I would also like to credit Erika Liston, she was one of my earliest occupational therapy mentors. Her heart was always in the job and she truly cared so much about all the kids. She was amazing to watch and even more amazing to learn from. Thank you so much for being an early inspiration! I would also like to credit my family who has been behind me, cheering me on the whole time. I could not have done this without them. Last but never least, I want to thank my daughter, Addie, as well, Whenever I think about giving care to children, I think about what I would want for my own child every time!
